Pixel Art / Re: Street Fighter demake MegaDrive

I actually quite like that. good call!
I don't really know why I left the cheek bone so boldly out, but they just looked funny to me. If you see the health bars in the animation the teeth are flat white, which was the original shading.

Hello,
A few weeks ago, I got together with some friends during a weekend and we did a retrojam. Target: the MegaDrive.
I thought I would take my tiny street fighter mockup and turn it into a real playable game.
This actually ran on a real mega drive, but development was not pretty!
Here is the original mockup:

and here is the link to the video of the process:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSKAn5RrfAw

and here is the spritesheet for Ryu

And also here is a video with the game actually working, obviously needing work, but sadly that is the nature of gamejams.

Please note some animations are 1 frame, because of the console's limitations, which are RIDICULOUS for nowdays, but indeed a joy to figure out and work around :)

Thank you, guys!
Yes, for the most part this is an illustration but in the pixel art format. I don't usually take the time to do preparation as most of my pieces are either a short daily piece or part of a bigger project and most pre-production material is prepared before hand.

Since I had made a sea scene image with a giant octopus and that was very popular, I decided to do another sea scene but record the process for posterity and to share.

Pixel Art / Traffic Light in the rain
« on: September 22, 2016, 10:37:21 am »
This is an image I made for the @Pixel_Dailies account on twitter.
This time the theme was Traffic light and almost imediately I had this idea of a traffic light in the rain, with the red light reflecting on the rain drops. So came up with a layout and composition to allow to see the traffic light and the reflection as well.
and then animated it in 4 frames.
The rain is 4 different layers of rain, just for randomness and they have cliping masks with red on them to simulate the drops being lit by the traffic light.

Its odd that the rotates CCW why coming off the chest and showing the item. It would be much more natural to the character to rotate clockwise.
Looks great thought

This is a more recent one:

it was done based on this concept I did previously:
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CkDNxUUUgAAF--_.jpg:large

if you want you can see the process of converting that concept into the pixelated version (which I'll admit is a bit sloppy at places) in this link:
https://www.twitch.tv/kazuyamochu/v/70456958
Which I just now realised there was no audio being broadcast and I babbled the whole time. oh well...
I'll do a narattion afterwards and link you guys if you want

Thanks guys!
the yellow car was indeed the one I spent most time on. the red car was exacly the same as the yellow but I decided to change it for a countach. thats why it doesn't bound so much.

I made these two. Only the vespa was done in a twitch session:
the terminator 2 inspired mockup is done in the gameboy colors and resolution
