I'm really liking the trees now, they have a sense of motion about them that's very appealing. I'm not sure if you're already working on it, but i just thought i'd back the comments on the path being too straight. It just doesn't work with the organic style you've got going here. Also, the blue flowers your character is chopping up look a bit strange. Very sharp and noisy, in a way. I think a more abstract representation would do the trick here. Maybe it's because of all the internal lines. I realise you're using those to define the shapes, but it really seems like it doesn't leave quite enough space for the actual forms they're trying to describe.

I agree with Helm, some un-dithered areas could really improve this. Especially on the skull, you'd expect a few areas to were smoothed down, and they'd certainly make it more interesting to the eye, i reckon.
Wonderful work on the err, lady, as well. I think the uniformly patterned look due to dithering works there, it serves to immitate the grimey overlays used on horror-film posters so often, i think. It's been good to see it progress, as well. Where i thought the woman started out as an anatomically incorrect blob, it works really well now, you really added definition where it was needed. I like the thickness of the stomach-skin, it immediately makes the entire piece more believable.
I'm going to try doing an overpaint of the skull. Depending on how that turns out, i might post it later!

edit:

Just to give you an idea, ofcourse. I also moved the shoulder some, see what you think about it.

If anything, bringing your palette together a bit could make this a lot better instantly. Right now you've picked every object's 'natural' colour. What i mean by that (and i'm sure there's a generally accepted term for it that i'm not aware of) is that your bricks are orange, your sky is blue, your tank is brown and err.. i love you? (i'm sorry)
None of these things are affected by things like atmospheric hazing (also called atmospheric perspective, i believe), colour-tinting from the sun/sky, light reflecting off of one coloured surface onto another...
Take for instance the church off into the background: The roof is bright blue! Worse still, the house next to it has cyan windows, which would suggest there being a very, very bright light inside, especially considering how light it is outside.
It's commendable that you're taking the criticism to heart like you are, and that you're still working on this!

Allow me to pick it up, like the sap i am:

You've basically remade the same exact thing over and over again. The most basic of things you needed to address was that it didn't *look like leather, or a mask. Take a look at materials, and specifically their specularity. Change the colours to be a fair bit darker and saturated, and introduce some details like bumps and stitches.
There's always room for disagreement with critiques, but you've agreed with them, and then just haven't taken them far enough.

Here's a kind of leather mask: http://www1.istockphoto.com/file_thumbview_approve/285297/2/istockphoto_285297_leather_mask.jpg
Don't mind the fact that it's not exactly the same shape as yours, but try to understand the material of it.

Unless it's going to be shown at a small size (on my 17" at 1024x768, it looks great at 1x), i'd agree with am_pm. At smaller sizes, the white increases readability, but as size increases the white really ends up fighting for your attention. Lovely animation, i must say.

I think --for you to clarify immediately that it's a mushroom-- you'll need to re-think the volume. I can't help but feel that you'll need to choose between stylising sillhouette or volume/shading, and since you're going for 'fat', it seems logical not to stylise that too much. The way it's lit right now suggests it's flat, and on the stem for instance, there's very little to suggest it goes into the 'hat' of the mushroom, and there's even less to suggest there's any sort of a rim to it.
I'm not thinking very clearly right now, so i hope i was of some help. If not, i'll take a look at this thread later :)

The problem wasn't that it didn't look like a clichéd UFO, it was that --as it stood-- there was little visual interest. Someone suggested going with the more classic image of a disc with a glass dome and flashing lights, as it'd make it a lot more recognisable, as well as give you more elements to work with. What you have here is a simple disch with a single extrusion and two dots.

I suspect you're taking the piss, though, and for all i know you might even be someone's alter ego.
If not, just continue.

edit: also, this is apparantly my first post with this account. Hi!
