Pixel Art / Anime Girl [CC appreciated]

Hey everyone! It's been a long time since I've posted here (probably close to four years or so) but I've finally been getting back into pixel art. I wanted to challenge myself and draw something totally outside of my comfort zone but still pretty manageable so I decided to draw something anime related.

This is where I am currently:


The hair has probably given me the most trouble and I'm not entirely happy with how it looks currently but its better than what it was previously. I more or less want to be done with the hair and face before moving onto the torso since that'll be the easiest thing to complete (I'll probably add the cat ear hair band last).
I think I've lost a bit of the feeling the first few sketches had in her expression but again, I'm not sure how to bring those back.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with how she's coming along but I really want some extra pairs of eyes on her to pick out things that I've likely missed.

Last two are spoiler'd because I only took zoomed in screenshots and they're pretty big and I didn't want to take up a lot of space.

Hey gang,

It's been a while since I've posted on here (about a year) and I'm working on yet another project! It's funny how one drops and picks things up after a while but I feel like I really have something with some good honest substance this time around. I wont dive into the story or any of that, seeing how I'm looking for critique on a number of things.
Lets start off with some screenshots:




Aside from wanting crit on the overall design and atmosphere of my map, I'm also looking for crit on my new walking animation:


I haven't made the arms yet because I'd rather finish the legs before the arms just to keep things neat and simple.

I uploaded the main screens in 2x but can easily provide 1x screenshots for editing purposes if anyone needs them (I was simply too lazy to change the camera scaling settings which would've taken all of two seconds).  I always appreciate the comments and ideas given to me when I visit this board, so I look forward to what you all have to say this time :)

Pixel Art / Help with Cave tileset for platformer [C&C][WIP]

Hey gang, I've been working on a platformer with a friend for a while and I've finally gotten around to making some proper assets for him to use. I currently have four-five character animations and a cave tileset in the works since caves will be the main area focus for the game.
Here are the tiles, and here is a very early mockup of the tiles in action
 
(the spikes and other assets are just placeholders)
They are 16x16 and use a total of five colors so far. I've already noticed some repetition in the ceiling tiles but I think I'm in the clear for the others so far. I'm going for a bit of a classic-ish feel for the tiles but I'll gladly change the style if it fits the character better.
Any ideas and or suggests for BG tiles or things I can use to help fill out the levels aesthetics would be much appreciated.

Pixel Art / 2bit man lost in 16bit world

Some of you might remember a topic I posted a while back about a game I was working on. A lot of you helped contribute ideas on my art, and really helped me out. Well, I'm here to tell you all that this project still hasn't died, and I still need critique on work that I've done. The game has really progressed, and I might even have something for you all to fiddle with soon. Any ways, here are the latest screens:

Yeah a whole lot hasn't really changed :P
But I do have some spiffy new cave tiles:

But those too are still being worked on, hence the reason why theres only blackness for a BG.

Pixel Art / C&C on some work I've been doing [GAME]

For about the past two months, I've been working on a game which has gone through many shapes and forms. The current form follows the lines of an "8bit man" that is lost in a "16bit world". The style of the game follows a room by room exploration format. The story line or how the games evolved isn't why I am here though, I'm here to get advice and good critique on the art being used in my game.

Theres been a bit of...a split between people who agree and disagree that the art is 8bit for the character and 16bit for the level art. I would like to side with the people that agree, but I want to get a well rounded opinion, which hopefully you guys will be able to fulfill.
