Pixel Art / skeleton figure; first attempt on movement
« on: September 23, 2018, 02:05:17 pm »
So I'm doing some character design, this is a skeleton of a spirit being, the "ghost stuff" and probably some organs and other details to be added. The first go on adding movement. It's a bit clumsy but it was basically only done to test how easy/difficult it is to make the figure move at all. It'd need more frames probably but this was only the first test.

Struggling with animating her feet a lot, really need to work on that.... It was supposed to look like sort of like she's raising the other foot to tiptoe position? But ended up making her do a very discreet pulp fiction dance ::)

With anatomy and outcome otherwise I'm happy.

General Discussion / Posting pixel art and animation to instagram
« on: September 17, 2018, 10:22:36 am »
I've googled and searched the forum but can't seem to find anything even though I'm pretty sure there must be a thread about this somewhere.

I've seen people post pixel art and animations on instagram without losing the quality, how is it done?
Do I have to use another program to post the files, do they have to be exact size or resolution, etc...?

Pixel Art / isometric room project + color palette, help!
« on: September 11, 2018, 02:16:24 pm »
I'm SO rusty in isometric pixeling and trying to give it a try after a while.
Also I'm struggling with the color study.

Any tutorials or tips for this stuff?
Currently searching pixeljoint forum but can't find anything helpful.

Will be posting progress here for comments and critique! Here's what I've done so far.

Pixel Art / critique and tips on breathing and evaporation
« on: September 06, 2018, 03:47:15 pm »
This is the first time I'm trying to animate evaporation effect and I'd like some critique!

Also tips for breathing are welcome. I think there should be wider movement and more moving frames and maybe some hair flowing (didn't get there yet, focused on the coffee first).

General Discussion / Software recommendations?
« on: September 05, 2018, 08:25:41 am »
I just recently started getting back into pixel art and animation after some 10 years of pause and am a bit out of the scene now.

I used to use MS Paint and Jasc Animation Shop 2 or 3 back then and later when I lost JAS I started using Gimp with MS Paint and that just doesn't seem to be the best combo really... I sort of like MS Paint in all it's crappiness but I'm up for suggestions. Layers would be great....

So I'd like to know what softwares do you people use for pixel art (and animation)? What would you recommend and why?
