Pixel Art / knight character (C&C appreciated)
« on: March 14, 2008, 06:25:24 pm »

64x64 8 colors + transparency

I was starting to make a generic knight to use while learning some game creation software.  He is meant for a platform game.  I was just curious if anyone sees any glaring issues with him at this point?  I have been struggling with the heart emblem on his chest, but I think my eyes are too used to the image so I can't see the problems anymore.  Thanks for any C&C in advance.

Pixel Art / Windmills are burning!!!! C&C welcome
« on: February 09, 2008, 02:22:23 am »

23 colors (32 max) 100x256

Here is my first ever entry in the latest pixeljoint challenge.  Any critiques are welcome, since I need to submit it in the next 24 hours.  The idea was to make an image using 2 of the following words (blood, fire, anger, hate).  I chose fire and hate, but I guess that shouldn't need explanation.  :-[

Pixel Art / [WIP] the shack
« on: February 01, 2008, 02:33:03 am »

256x128  34 colors (so far)

Wanting to try my hand at illustrating with pixel art, so I made a shack... on a mountain side... above the clouds... in the early morning...

I am always struggling with color and contrast, so any C&C would be appreciated.

Pixel Art / Wizard of Oz sprites (C&C welcome)
« on: January 25, 2008, 12:02:57 am »

Hi All,

I read a slew of Oz books over the holiday break and found some time today to make the first of (hopefully) many character sprites.  I started with Dorothy (Toto is coming).  I've been struggling with the arms and dress anim.  The arms still seem pretty hard to read to me, but I've been staring at this for a while now.  Any C&C is appreciated.

Pixel Art / walk animation critique...
« on: November 11, 2007, 08:47:23 pm »
After seeing another post with Scott Pilgrim sprites, I decided to check out the book.  Turns out I'm now an addict as well, so I decided to work on a little game of my own starring...  Knives Chau!!  I haven't done a walk cycle in a long while and wondered if anyone had any suggestions to make it better.  I'm finding it tricky to animate at 64x64, but I really want to keep my resolution and project small.
