General Discussion / A Dithering Thread
« on: December 18, 2010, 01:12:44 am »
hello, this is a thread on dithering. now dithering is seen in many stylish ways these days usually by the greatest of artists.

but i'm getting back into pixelart and i'm hoping to learn how to draw by hand soon also. but i'm practising dithering but i know i've seen tutorials on how to dither but with more of a stylish twist to it. i can't seem to find them now, and i wanted to know if you guys knew of any tutorials which could teach me to dither more stylish.

or perhaps you could do one yourself i don't know, but i'd love to hear more on this. either way below i've provided a link i found earlier.

Pixel Art / [WIP] Robot Assasin Platformer

welcome to my topic.

I've began work on the graphics to this game of mine, so far it mostly just a background and a tileset. and i will provide you all with a download link to my graphics so far. also i wanted to make this the character about 35 pixels in height. but i wasn't good enough to pull it off. i have provided a sketch of it below. i don't like the eyes that are on the sketch but it gives you a good idea of what it would ideally look like.

character sketch: Click Here

My Graphics:

listed in order the graphics above are: forest background(bg) at night, forest bg in day, grass tiles for the game so far. i still need to do a bit of work for the tiles that is about 10 mins of work so i need to do more work on it other then that it seems all good. but in the grass tiles ignore the bricks and door and all that it was for a castle level i decided not to go on with.

here is a screenshot of the graphics in use:

now if anyone can help with the character that would be great otherwise all comments and feedback on my existing designs are welcome. this was has a total of like 3 or 4 colors so far. and looks pretty good in my opinion.

Pixel Art / help with this palette
« on: February 16, 2009, 03:33:22 am »
hello everyone, i'm starting work on some images but because i'm making a piece that is cartoony/retro with sprites and a background. i wanted to have a decent palette to begin with because that is what destroys my attempts at this everytime i try. so i wanted to egt one first off.

now i've been working hard at this palette, and his is as close as i've gooten to decent. and its crap and i wanted to know if anyone could fix it up for me?

also now that tocky has posted a good palette down on reply #6. i would appreiectae if people would help teach me how to use it.
