Pixel Art / [CC] How would you improve this colour palette?
« on: May 19, 2018, 06:19:52 pm »

This is a screenshot of the game I'm currently working on. I like de-saturated colours much, but
I have the feeling that this isn't everybody's taste and/or that it might be overdone here.

How would you guys see this colour palette better, what would you change?

Quick edits are greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

This is the colour palette of the character, for reference

Hi! I have a game idea in mind and I'm in the process of creating and animating the game's art. I have one question to ask. Is it possible to use a different scale for the background and the character, or does it have to be the same to look ok? In other words can I have a normal background whilst my character a low res but re-scales sprite on top of that background?

In short I'd like to make 32*32 tiles with a 16*16 character blown up 2 times

I hope my question makes sense.

Thanks in advance,

Pixel Art / [CC] Need criticism on idle pose and walk cycles.
« on: May 13, 2018, 05:30:57 pm »
I've posted about that character on pixel art but now I need advice on animation.
How do the experienced guys think I can improve those walking animations and why
not as well the idle one too.

The skid hopping of the baby is intentional, the proportions are intentional as well.

Anything other than that I'd like to receive criticism on, shading, animation etc.

For info, it's a 12 frames walk cycle and idle animation, at 10fps.

Here it is:

I've only done one walk cycle animation because I'm waiting for criticism before I
engage myself too much in animation and have to change everything later haha.

Thanks for your time and feedback,

Thank you in advance!

Hello fellow pixel people!
Here's a concept character for a game I may make in the future.

It's a baby with his guide rabbit. He never goes anywhere without him,
the rabbit always leads the way. The toy in the baby's hand is his weapon,
I'll later animate it. It can transform the rabbit into a fearsome wererabbit
and can cast spells to slow down and annoy his owner's enemies.

Please tell me what you think about it in general.
Any criticism is welcome and I thank you in advance for it!

Pixel Art / Tips on animating any moving light source e.g. fire?
« on: May 08, 2018, 12:04:53 pm »
Hello, I was quickly working on an animation for pixel dailies and I found myself wondering
how to proceed to animate light from a moving light source. Are there any tutorials, tips you might have?

Thanks in advance!

P.S. Here's the animation I made, the highlights look dull due to the lack of movement.

Any tips, criticism, comment is more than welcome!  ;D

Pixel Art / Experimentation with dithering. Any thoughts/criticism?
« on: February 12, 2018, 08:58:28 pm »
Since I hardly ever use dithering I decided to dedicate one piece to it. So I had fun with it.
As to the piece itself it's a heart-shaped gear for today's entry of pixel dailies.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!  ;D

Pixel Art / [NEWBIE] Duck head stabilisation animation
« on: February 10, 2018, 07:05:57 am »

Here's something I made quickly. My attention was caught on someone's comment about bird head stabilisation on the interner. So I though I might give it a try.

Any feedback or comment is more than welcome  :)

Pixel Art / [feedback] First playing around with dithering.
« on: February 08, 2018, 03:11:35 pm »

So today was making a piece with a sunset with 4 colours in the sky. Since I never had the opportunity to use dithering I thought why the hell not. So here's what I managed to do:

If you could tell me what's good and bad about what I did, also any tips in general concerning the piece are very welcome!

Thank you in advance.  :)
