Pixel Art / Steampunk mockup

Hello it's been a long time i don't post here ^^

So this is the next step about my steampunk game : environment !

After lonnng search about a great athmosphear, i found this picture and it really like it.

Heroe is in an undeground and very controlled city (dystopia story), so colors reflect the oppressive athmosphear ( grey and blue/brown )
i want a victorian style, because in this isolated city, (and controlled !) all the citizen use "art" to free their mind.
Citizens live for the city, and the city is like alive so there will be lot of organics/mechanics devices

So how is your feeling about desing and colors?

- the big head will be used to launch flying robot (like a hive) when alarm is activated
- the castlevania's style elevator is an old one : i'll change color and make it more simple (with less colors)
- i'm in trouble with background color: i planned to make some rock design but i'm afraid to put too many dark color
- I don't know if i should keep red color for statue

thanks for any critics and suggestions  ;D

I tried to change red in white for the hero.. i don't know wich is better...
edit : maybe i need an outline for the heroe !

Pixel Art / Need help to animate character

I worked recently on my hero sprite and i'd like to have some critics about arm movment
there are 3 positions for head and hammer (1 hammer position need to be polished)

I try to make the shoulder move to front and after  back
I suppose i should move some pixel from the steambag to simulate the light in a piece of steel in movment.

The point bother me is about the light and shadow for the cap : i don't really have clue to start and if the cap should "jump" in the head
I don't know if i should make the face move right and left so we'll see a 3/4 face sometime

Ps: you should see boots from 1st frame are differents : i just start to make boots less complex with same colors as the hero

This run cycle will be use as normal move for the hero : he can run or stop (no walking cycle in game)

I like a lot the rock effect used in the "icebreaker" game (ios), so i'd like to have some advice to make my own rocks ^^

Pixel Art / Need inspiration for a steampunk weapon

Long time i don't posted (and don't worked on my game -_-)...

So right now i have a multifunction weapon for all the game.
It's a weapon with a main shoot : the green beamer and a 2e custom shoot wich can make flamethrower, missile launcher, smoke gaz etc
As it's a heavy weapon, it's flying and can allow hero to double jump or dash  like a jet pack

So it's the current wip

this is the part used to be the 2e shoot

Maybe i should add a visual change for each custom weapon like gatling, electric device, missile launcher etc

I'd like to make a proper design to symbolise well all options, pls make suggestions.
Also this weapon is as important as hero so i'd like to have a really cool design, but it's really hard to add lot of details on this small sprite.
I'm thinking to use gold, steel or copper materials + cable and classic steampunk component

I planned to build the game with a map like "mini map" connected to all the level aera (exploration and boss)
I used castlvania like model and lot of pictures "art nouveau".

I'd like to know your feeling
In this mockup there are 5 places:
- high/left : some control to access new map (with 2 side doors  :-[ )
- high/middle : just a walking aera + light
- high/right + bottom/right :  elevator
- bottom/left : access to a level aera
- bottom/middle : access to the save room (and other stuff). In fact i wanted to have a workshop with a menu (like the stone in castlvania) to save, maybe i should place this workshop directly in the map instead of a door + teleport !?

Hello, i'm actually working on a funny steampunk platform game, i'll post some of my works to have critics

i'm looking for some graphism with few details but cool ambiance : all graphisms i'll make will be cave / metallic device / victorian (=castelvania) door and object (elevator etc)
I'm trying to make level like demon's crest style

this is part of cave tileset with root, (32x32 case for each square of map). there are many variants

So please give me some help with your experience or suggestions (link or other)

I'm working on a rpgmaker game, so i use a template from another maker to do my own chara.
I need some suggestions help to finish my template (about shadow or other )


this is my working space : you see 4x4 poses for game and my old side view chara on the right.
I need to do a proper side view and not an iso like original template
You see faceset too (a small one, not the game faceset).
If you have some advice to have a chara face like faceset ...
