For the weekly competition at Pixeljoint.

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Specifically on the form of the shading as I'm not too happy with that.

Pixel Art / Romulus and Remus mockup
« on: June 27, 2017, 02:32:56 pm »
Hey all,

I'm currently working on a platformer mockup based on Romulus and Remus, the two brothers (twins) that founded Rome.

How are the characters reading? I wasn't sure too sure on the hair, or the colours chosen. Any tips would be appreciated.

Clothing based on: http://www.crystalinks.com/romulusvultures1.jpg

My current plan for this mockup is to have the two brothers on the left, and then a wolf (or some monster/enemy) on the right. Other than that, it'll be quite bare.

Pixel Art / Nomad

Hi all,

Had some free time, so I thought I'd do some pixeling.

Working on an old character of mine, which I pixeled in 2011 or so.

Hopefully conveyed his roundness better, though I'm not sure about the arms in his pockets. Any ideas on how to improve would be appreciated.

His character is a nomad/merchant.

Original - 2011 version

Sketch so far. Just looking for some suggestions, etc before I start to clear it up.

I think he may look too 'human-like'. Not sure if anyone else agrees.

Pixel Art / Chiron
« on: January 30, 2011, 10:47:42 pm »
Hey, i just finished reading the Divine Comedy by Dante
Anyway, i'm planning to pixel all the mythological creatures/people that are in the story.

Starting with Chiron, the centaur that shoots arrows at people trying to escape from the river of lava.

Lineart

I have started to try and colour it in, but i just want to make the lines/stance etc perfect before i start

Started to colour in, but realised the anatomy is off around the chest. Tried to fix, but i still think it's off.

Yeah, been a few months since i've last pixeled.
I've been drawing traditionally more using Burne Hogarth and Loomis.

Anywayyy,... I did this for the recent(ish) Secret Santa.

I would like to hear anyones views on how to improve this. I'm thinking of removing the seat behind and starting it again.

Anatomy critiques much needed :D
Thanks :)

Normally i don't do this but i think it'll help with C+C etc..
Anyway, i've been playing a lot of pokemon diamond and i'd really like to get into some pokemon drawing. (also thanks to Tvyon, which finally inspired me)
I do think the picture is of a screenshot, but i can't really remember since i saw it about a week ago.

I'd really like C+C on how to make the thunderpunch look more like thunder, and anything else you can see i would be grateful  :y:

Colours taken from Ampharos

Pixel Art / Hidden Lizard
« on: March 04, 2009, 04:25:52 pm »
Well, it was initially for the competition but i didn't feel that i could show a dramatic difference but still keeping the sense of darkness..

So, i decided to just make them both lizard-like..

This said, i'm having trouble doing the nose ]:

Before, i chose to not enter it in the competition. if anyone has any ideas, of how i could make one side difference, say please :D Btw, mostly the problem was with the mouth..
