Pixel Art / Hunter Character Concept (battle with pixel plaid)
« on: September 12, 2013, 04:33:50 pm »
I was talking with my friend and he wanted me to whip up a concept hunter sprite (as in shoot deer, drink beer style sterotype ) for him. As I got further into the design he wanted me to give him some plaid/make him look a bit more like that style sterotype and I realized that I have no idea how to make a good looking plaid in low pixel count. I'm trying to keep it constrained into 16x32 (he originally wanted 16x16  :'( ) I've been staring at this thing for a while and I think I'm losing the hat shape now vs what I want to accomplish.

Here's what I thus far: (please ignore the shoddy background, it felt more natural to draw on some sort of scenery vs the normal mid grey for me this time)

Pixel Art / Need some help with pixel pulled paper
« on: August 19, 2013, 06:45:12 pm »
I've been working on this piece for a Kirby zine I'm submitting to and I'm happy with most of the piece except the edge of the paper that is being sucked in by Kirby. I just can't seem to wrap my head around how to make it look right. Right now it's extra horrendous with some serious banding going on that I was using as a base to try out wrinkles and folds, but nothing I've seems to look right. It either comes out looking like a mess or like textured rocks.

So here I am looking for any ideas on how to make this paper texture look right for this so I can hopefully finish off this in time for the cutoff date. Any ideas or suggestions I would be greatfull for! <3

Pixel Art / Machine Girl Album Cover [WIP][C+C]
« on: May 27, 2013, 02:04:39 am »
Hey everybody, I've been working on an album cover for a fine fellow on and off over the past month and now that I'm getting to putting some characters on it I feel like I could really take it a bit further and make it look even better especially when it comes to getting the characters standing out enough, it's definitely one of my weaker points. So I thought I'd bring it over to you wonderful folks and see how I can improve it so I can finish it up this week. Any thoughts are appreciated, but regardless thanks for giving it a look!  ;D

Pixel Art / Title Screen for a game I'm working on [WIP][C+C]
« on: May 09, 2013, 07:46:07 pm »
Hello everybody!
Recently I whipped up some graphics for a Ludum Dare game with a couple of my friends and we decided to go farther with it so I'm working on fixing up a lot of the visuals starting with having a real title screen. This is what I have so far, I think I'll animate it a little after I tweak it up and figure out how i want to do it. Any critiques anyone could offer to really bring it up to snuff would be greatly appreciated, thanks! <3
