Pixel Art / platform character and need some help with bird

I made a few animations that I would like your opinion on.
I dont have time to convert them to gif right now, but will try and do so later if it helps (any recommendations on what program to use to quickly convert them?)

I didnt spend a lot of time refining these yet, and I particularly need some advice on the duck and push ones since I have most trouble with those.

I also had this idea to make mounts and I would like some advice on a feather texture for a large bird. I didnt really try things yet, just made a very rough version

Pixel Art / [WIP][C+C] platform tileset

I'm working on a tileset for a platformer, and so far i have this:

Any thoughts on how to improve it? The shading on the tree is horrible, but i wanted to expand the tileset first before improving that. I would like to make some kind of distinction between a background layer and a foreground layer (where the player would be able to walk) with those rocks, but i'm not really sure how.
Also i had the idea that the player could jump/walk on the trees or maybe use them to bounce on or something so they could have a cool animation (probably not as cool as i'm hoping for since i'm very much of an amateur), so its alright for them to stand out so much.
Any tips and ideas would be very helpful.

I'm working on somewhat of a base sprite to later draw clothes and hair over to make different characters/npc's.

Right now i'm quite happy with the way the front view turned out. I know the shading is a little sloppy and perhaps a little inconsistent here and there, but thats not the main thing i want your advice on.

What has been really difficult for me was getting the other angles to look right, while also keeping the same proportions. (the arms seem much thicker etcetera). The images with a red outline are the ones that i have the most trouble with.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I had this idea of making a somewhat scary face-like tree with a bit of a trippy feel to it.

This is what i have so far

I am kind of happy with the shape so far, but it doesnt feel like its quite finished yet. Some pointers would be much appreciated.

I did those a while ago, but i have never really asked anyone to look at them who actually knows a thing or two about pixel art. So I decided to show them here and see if anyone can provide me with some constructive criticism.

I think the grey-bearded guy and the one with the viking helmet look a little flat due to bad shading. Also I would really like some tips about the texture of the beards, as i found it quite hard to make them look natural.

Does anyone know of a good tutorial or example for a walking animation (preferably 8 directional) for this type of sprites? I found it very hard to even get the static view for the other directions right, and have so far not managed to do so.
