and yet, i can never find the time to dive into your sweet ocean of pleasure.
or at least long enough to focus on a piece and really generate some quality material.

here are some random things i've made while sitting at my computer listening to weird bands.
robot warning.

some of these may actually have been posted.
like the aqua fighters. and maybe face above them.
but ah well.

i was thinking of doing more animal themed robo-fighting guys. they kind of remind me of dissonant megaman enemies.

some doodles using the c64 palette.
feeling oceanic after reading the nuclear ocean sprites thread.

working (yet again) with arne's beautiful palette, and getting some inspiration from the works created with it, i've made up a little platformer mock up.
and a run animation for what would be one of the main characters.
if only i could program games...

it's rough, and i don't know if i'm going to really put in the time to refine it. it was mostly just messing around with the colors.

maybe some of you remember this guy?:

well, i like the way he turned out. unfortunately, the size restrictions set by the developer i was working with did NOT like the way he turned out.
this was kind of both our faults. bad communication.

in any case, i'm attempting to resize him. here's where i'm at:

he is saying that the face is a little unrecognizable, and i'm just trying to tell him i couldn't really define it any more, because i wanted the proportions to stay intact.
so i'm turning it over to the community of amazing artists to bash it till it's great.

after all, you turned my run into a run from this:

messing around with gamemaker, and more importantly, altering the hell out of a platformer tutorial...
because i don't understand the program yet.
