hi guys. im having a hard time figuring out how to create an isometric circle like this http://www.wayofthepixel.net/pixelation/index.php?topic=6902.0 can grafx2 'skew' circles to the 30 degrees necessary to do this. i know how its done vector wise but the pixel method not so much...  surely there must be a certain method to do this. thanx :)

what software has totally improved your workflow and is something that you enjoy creating in?

ive been playing with grafx2, and am now trying paint.net. im trying to find a very stable, very fast, multi-threaded, ergonomic and not ugly ui and updated frequently. im just curious what software has brought out the inner artist in you and that you find is very fun at the same time?

p.s. sorry about the one line spamming i didn't know these rules at the time :-[

General Discussion / grafx2. grab brush/object on layer.
« on: February 02, 2011, 05:42:33 pm »
in grafx2, what exactly are layers? im under the impression that they are unique and that each layer has nothing to do with one another. when i create a new layer, and draw on it, i assume that im grabbing/selecting from a new and unique layer. however, grafx2 is not working this way. its working in the sketchup layer way (layers are not unique and all connect with layer1) what i want to do is create a unique layer so that i can grab brushes/objects with out grabbing the already created object. currently when i create a new layer, then grab it, it draws a black square that covers the object, but does not select it and also grabs the object from layer1. ive found a way to use the lasso for grabbing on layer1.  ive posted pictures to show you what i mean. thanx cybernetic

im trying to create a 4 color palette, so i go to palette, reduce, and set the reduce color to 4 colors. (because i read when your just starting off you should use a very limited palette) what i want to do is set the palette to 4 colors, and only show those 4 colors instead of the default 256 colors. but when i set the reduce to 4 and change the color, it changes the colors of the user interface too. (it also changes the color of the interface when set at default 256 color. why does it do this  thanx  :) cybernetic

General Discussion / how would i do this?
« on: January 28, 2011, 05:55:57 pm »
hey pixel friends. im glad to be here. i just learned about pixel art recently and i think its very beautiful. obviously theres a lot of work thats involved. but its worth it. i hope :-\ im using grafx2. what i want to  do is be able to divide the rectangle so the windows fit the walls to proportion. im sure there must be a method to do this. to me , it makes sense that you would need to divide the roof into i think 32 triangles. (im not sure if math is involved in pixel art or if its all done by a certain method. is my isometric cube correct? is grafx2 a good pixel program? is it ok to use the line tool in grafx2 the way i did or is this a shortcut that creates more problems then solutions? thanx :) cybernetic.

(p.s.) i wasnt aware if this forum is active or not hence so many questions. and there will be be more! just being honest :D
