Having spent several years as a freelancer I have worked on many different projects, in several different roles, ranging from F2P mobile games through to RPG痴. I like to think of myself as a dedicated game maker, whatever the role I知 in, and I strive to expand my skill set whenever time allows me. In the past I have self-taught myself how to use Photoshop and various document/asset sharing applications to suit the needs of whoever I知 currently working for.
I知 currently in the process of teaching myself how to use Blender for 3D asset creation.

Job offers / Looking for a sprite artist good with animations
« on: November 09, 2016, 01:54:24 pm »
Hey people,

I'm looking for a decent sprite artist within my price range that is capable of creating animated sprites for human and animal NPCs at a rough estimate of 4-6 frames per animation.

The sprites themselves are 32x32 (Give or take. Some larger some smaller), at at a top down Zelda style perspective and will need to match existing art.

More information can be given on request.

I wouldn't say my budget is industry standard but I'm more than happy to pay for good, consistent and reliable artists. As there is the potential for on going work in the future (I have a lot of projects on the go and I often contact people to help get projects out the door).

Feel free to email me at and send relevant examples and rates. Thank you.

I will decide on an artist early next week.

The first is a single sprite roughly 50x60. Although slightly bigger or smaller would be fine if it looks better.

I need him beefed up a bit in a "Duke Nukem" kind of way and in a pose similar to this...
But instead of a heavy machine gun he would be holding a big rocket launcher at waist height.

The second sprite would be a 40x40 sprite of a child holding a white stuffed bear (might have to make it wider than 40 to fit the bear in, depends on how you drawn him holding the bear).
This sprite would then need a couple of basic animations, but I can give further details if selected for the job
The bear would have to be fairly sizable but not bigger than the kid, so I'll leave judgement up to you.
If I could get the single sprite done first, then once we have that perfect we could do the animation.

It would be great if people could send me their portfolios and quote estimations to

I need these to be done relatively quickly, within this week or next if possible. So please only contact me if you have the time and are easy to get in contact with.

If all goes well then there is the potential for more work as I always have at least one project on the go at any one time.

Portfolios / Experienced Pixel Artist - With Published Games
« on: December 24, 2014, 06:28:35 pm »
Freelance Pixel artist here looking for work.

I知 happy to work on all sorts of pixel based projects, small to large and back again. I would love to work on a full project but don稚 hesitate to contact me if you just need an extra pair of pixel hands to polish up a project.

I specialise mainly in environmental art but I知 happy to take on sprites if the needs arise. Whilst I am mainly looking for paid work I might consider working on a profit-share if I really like the look of the game and I sense potential in the team.

Just to show that I have completed work for various games within the indie scene, here are a few of my more recent projects.
My latest role is working as the lead artists for Poncho. A game that has just picked up a publisher.

In addition to that I also worked as the environmental artist for the game Freedom Planet. They ran a very successful Kickstarter campaign and have also been Greenlit for Steam

I致e also been working on my own game with a programmer

In between doing freelance pixel work for other people痴 games I often spend my time designing little games for the iPhone and working on smaller projects of my own . You can find more examples of my work here...

Job offers / [paid] Seeking Sprite for Game Prototype
« on: September 27, 2012, 04:35:16 pm »
I知 working on a game and I need a single animated sprite
to do some tests with. I知 a pixel artist myself but I focus on tile and
background work as animation isn稚 really a strong point of mine, so I知
turning to the community here for help (paid of course).

The sprite needs to be 64x64 and have a simple walk
animation in the directions of North, South and West. Maybe an attack animation
as well if the price is right.

The style would have to match this map here

The game itself is essentially a board game like chess
where you move pieces about the board but when I updated the graphics I wanted to
have the pieces come to life. With that in mind I would love to maintain the
blocky/chunky nature of most playing pieces, something easily identifiable from
just its silhouette.

As for what I want the playing pieces to look like. I
would love it if people could take inspiration from some of the early concept sketches
for Shadow of the Colossus, organic creatures with a mixture of natural rock/minerals
and almost mechanical sections.

If anyone things they池e up to the task then feel free to
send me some examples of your work along with quotes (

I値l do my best to reply to all emails but if I get a
large response I may not have the time, at the very least I will update this
topic when I致e found someone.

I am also currently working on a top down RPG style tile set, unfortunately I can't post any progress until the game is complete at the request of my employer. I just wanted to point out that I have worked on more than one serious project and am capable of different styles.
After the Sonic Gemini project started to die down I past the time by working on various bits and pieces to keep myself occupied. Whilst the main aim of this topic was to do some freelance pixel work for people much of this work being posted is up for grabs for anyone wishing to pay for it (negotiable). Obviously I can稚 use pieces designed specifically for the Sonic Gemini project as that would be unfair to them, but if you see something you like then feel free to ask about it.

This is just a taster of what I have on offer, I have plenty of smaller pieces of work available to anyone that asks. If you池e looking for anything in particular there is a chance I already have something you could use.
