I had a little go:

(How can you not have a mushroom smiley?)
I think these are my favorite ones so far.

I actually really like the new sprites. The monsters look fantastic. The only crits I have is move the eyes down before you go any further and maybe expand the hole in the dark monster's face. Right now it looks like he ist going to tip over.

Hawk, stop telling us what to do! There's nothing wrong with the word penis.

And stop posting that horrible walking guy image, it doesn't help anyone...
Seriously. That walkign animation isn't that good. You don't read the leg-bend at all.

One of the biggest problems is, it is a bad character base. I'd say work on the character proportion. You can still keep a cartoony look and have a good base.

I don't get what it is. Also, I don'tunderstand what is in your avater either. A tree and a building? This is really hard to read so far.

I don't like youredit Gil. The whole thing looks less damp. I think you made everything a little too bright.

You've made progress, but you still haven't learned to color well enough. The walk looks pretty good but for coloring you should really study some good iso sprites. Look at Adarias's sprites for example to understand how to color so your sprite doesn't look so muddy. The dithering and colors do not help, or express the character's clothing well enough. The hair needs some work also, but it is not bad.

I can't stress it enough. Study some iso bases and sprites and attempt to folow the same examples.

Big improvement. I think it fits actually really well.

I've attempted a few sand tiles. I've noticed the blander it looks separate, the better it looks together. Also, like Xion said, a rock every once in awhile can make a big difference. Other then the sand, everything looks amazing. The two tiles for the paths do clash a little but nothing that distracting. The house is also much better looking then your last attempt at a house. It is actually very attractive.

Your color choice is excellent. The are so vibrant. The only problem I can see is the tree perspective which has already been expressed.

The one problem I see is the legs and feet. They seem really spread out and the feet also curve outward.

I made a small edit to show you what I mean:
