If anyone is interested here is our entry http://pyweek.org/e/Adrenaline/. Unfortunately we had to use alot of open source images instead of making them ourselves.

Yeah I'll try but I think I'll be horrible at trying to put in rust.

Haha ok well I figured his default equipment would involve a light helmet since that could be helpful exploring anywhere, but it should probs be dark. Ok yeah I'm gonna try touch up now.

EDIT: I got rid of the 'craters' and stuff because its just meant to be worn out metal.

Thanks, no he doesn't mine anything sorry, but he is investigating the disapearence of Dr. Freeman. There should be some really strange stuff going on since the theme for the competition in Nine Times were gonna have Nine versions of your dude.

Yeah I thought of that, don't know whether the sudden jump would work or not, and I want to reduce the amount of animation I have to do.

Haha thanks the palette is one I found on this forum (Arne's). Um yeah he does seem a little too straight or something. But yeah I was going for a recon kinda guy with a gas mask, helmet light backpack and a full body suit. He's investigating the disapearence of a scientist. Hopefully I finish this game in the week, but I'll link a finished version if anyone is interested.

Hmm that's a nice edit Fullbert but its meant to be a side on platformer so it kinda doesn't work, but I totally get what you mean.

EDIT: Yeah that looks so good pistachio, thanks a ton. I guess one of my main mistakes was that I didn't have enough shading. But the details on the helmet make it look so much better as well.

Ok here's the player I designed. Clearly it's horrible and I am not a pixel artist but a coder but to be fair It's part of a competition to make a game in a week. Kinda just want critique and how to improve, I have checked a fair chunk of tutorials so I guess the best way to improve is to keep practicing and stuff.

EDIT: I'm having trouble with some tiling. I can't seem to get it right. Help would be much appreciated! Used this tilesheet to help me out http://www.spriters-resource.com/snes/smetroid/sheet/1718

First problem is that you don't have a good light source which makes them look 2D (no depth). This also makes it hard to determine what they are as they look just like blobs with outlines, cept I would say for the visor on the green helmet.
