Thank you to all interested parties. I have found an artist to work with for these particular assets, but I'm sure I'll need more in the future.

Hello Pixelation, I'm a solo dev working on a sci-fi pixel art platformer for mobile, and am in need of the following assets. This is a paid project, and should pay at least $15 an hour, but please provide a quote for the estimated total based on the information provided. After all, $30/h to someone who could do the job twice as fast as someone at $15/h is just as viable.  These are the assets I'm currently looking for:

64x64 saw blade. No animation, it'll be animated in code. Picture below shows the temporary art I'm using now. So I basically just need a less crumby version of that.

16x16 front facing alien creatures. 3-5 unique creatures depending on overall quote. These characters will only be seen through a window in the background, and as such only need to be done from the head to about the waist.

Menu/UI. I'd love to talk to someone who's familiar with pixel art UIs, but  this is what I believe I need right now.
  • 9 slice menu screen
  • 50x50 icon button
  • 30x30 icon button
  • 40x120 text button

That's what I currently have as temporary elements, but if there's more standardized dimensions you'd rather work with, that would be fine with me.

This is a photo of the game environment/saw blade to give you an idea of the general look and tone of the game.

If you're interested in the project or have any questions please PM me. Looking forward to hearing from you.

I should add. I'm open to working with multiple artists here. So if one person specializes in characters but not so much UI, and another specializes in UI but not characters as much, that's okay. Just let me know what you're interested in doing.

Job offers / [Closed]Indie dev looking for artist to make tilesets
« on: January 25, 2019, 06:39:13 pm »
Artist has been selected.

Hello Pixelation community. I'm in need of a pixel artist to make a 32x32 tileset for a sidescrolling platformer. The game takes place in an alien testing facility, so think a clean/sterile environment, but still clearly sci-fi.

I need someone already experienced with seamless tilesets, as the art aspect is not my forte at all. Right now I'm mainly focused on foreground elements, floor, ceiling, walls, foundation, etc, plus a few essential objects like levers and spike traps. But I'll discuss details like that with the interested candidates.

This is a paid position and I want to pay fairly, but as I'm not in the art world I don't know what that would be. If interested please DM or email me, and we can go over enough details for you to give me an accurate quote.

Thank you to all the talented artists who replied to this post. I've found the artist I'll be working with for this particular piece, but will definitely be back looking for more assets in the near future.

Hello everyone!  I'm currently working on a mobile platformer and need an artist that can help me create my main character. They would be 32x32 and have the following animations:

  • Run - 4 to 8 frames
  • Jump Up - 1 frame
  • Jump Down/Fall - 1 frame
  • Wall Slide - 1 frame
  • Push Block - 4 to 8 frames

The theme is somewhat SciFi, as the character is abducted by aliens and forced to compete in platform puzzles and time trials. So he will be in some sort of spacey jump suit. I'd like to work with you on the concept art, but if you'd rather not and focus solely on the animation that's fine too.

This is a paid job, but I don't know exactly how much to offer, as I have no idea the time something like this would take. I'll pay at least $20 an hour, but if interested, please let me know how much you estimate the total time might be on this. Any other questions, please feel free to ask.
