I'm creating my pixel art in Photoshop CS3 running on Mac OS X 10.5.7. However, whenever I save files (.png or .gif) they become desaturated when viewing them in Preview, Firefox, and Thunderbird. However, when viewed from Safari, the colors are the same as in Photoshop. When "saving for web devices" and creating an animated .gif, the colors immediately become desaturated viewed from Photoshop.
My working space, and destination space are both "sRGB IEC61966-2.1".
My question is, is this a problem beginning in Photoshop that I can fix, or is this issue out of my control and depends on the viewing devices and the profiles they support. I'd be exceedingly grateful for any thoughts or suggestions.
(colors saved from photoshop and screen capture from firefox)

[Update]
Okay, I may have figured this out. It seems to not desaturate the images when I put the working space profile on "ColorSync RGB - Generic RGB Profile"...If anyone even cares.
