I've found someone already. Thank you to everyone who messaged me, I believe I didn't reply to some of you.

If he wants to he can publish some of the results once we have them :D

Job offers / [PAID][HOBBY] Warrior Portraits

There's this project of remaking a Japanese NDS game that's always been on the back of my mind. It uses character portraits cut out from digitalised physical cards to represent units on a battefield. I currently have some savings I'm happy to sink into the project to create them :D

The commission is to create a spritesheet of 30-50 sprites sized 48x48 px.

My request is to get a large volume (30-50) of portraits like the ones in the video or anything that comes up when looking for Samurai Warriors or Dynasty Warriors or any feudal japan strategy game like this one. The end result doesn't have to be limited to feudal japan, it could also be fantasy or medieval european warriors, even magyars, nords, celts, or germanic tribes. The size I'd expect would be between 48x48 and 64x64, and have a permissive license. Style-wise I'm aiming for realism more than cartoonish although I'm open to in-between suggestions that just fit like the Phoenix Wright's ones above.

Some ingame portraits displaying the poses I'm aiming for

Existing similar portraits from NDS games

Some pixel art examples of varying style/quality that could also fit the project

Feel free to shoot me a message here, or drop your info and I'll contact you. I'm happy to answer questions or receive advice about art direction.

Cheers!
