thank you so much, I have been trying to get here with bryce and poser for a long time. I am glad to see other using 3d to help them, I am doing my best to understand what is different about these from mine, and between all the different versions.

well, I have several other pictures, but this is pretty much the culmination of them all. It is the "GeoThermal PowerPlant", the tubes dump lava between them, with timed gaps, the gears are background objects. Of note, the gears are 'auto-shapes', and aren't aligned to the grid yet, so they are pretty inefficient, but I wanted to see how they would look.

it is pretty shabby compared to the awesome work I see you guys doing, but I can tell that I have gotten better. I should really do a lot more on this, but school has me pretty pressed for time.

EDIT: I just was going over the previous entries, mine is very similar to Rosse's, but his is much better  :blind:
I am hoping it is not too similar :(

@ Conceit, I always saw at as a recollection of the travels he went through during the game,j like it took him a whole year to defeat the robot masters, and restore peace. Rock is the the perfect assassin, he travels alone primarily, and defeats  insurmountable odds. All without complaining, and with the same melancholy attitude about destroying billions of dollars in rogue machinery. Just my interpretation.

looks pretty good, it certainly looks like snow, you should try making some footprints in the snow, and maybe some that are faded away partly, like the snow has covered them some.

Pixel Art / rudimentary tileset, just getting started
« on: July 23, 2008, 06:26:52 pm »
well, Im a horrible pixeler. that much I know. Im trying to make a couple dozen tiles for my 8-bit platformer. I posted a pic earlier, but I was in the wrong area and I'm wanting to start a project thread proper.

Here is the start of a tileset, it also has a couple of pickup items right now, those will probably be moved at some point to a sprite sheet separately. For now, I'm keeping them in one place.
OLD

as you can see, I have my work cut out for me. I have a couple of tiles I did earlier, that Im thinking of going back to, I think they look better. I fired up an NES and I have been looking at a lot of their tiles, but I just can't quite get it.

pointers ? direction ? give up now ?

You run final redemption I see. beautiful site with wonderful artwork. If I had the money to hire you, and a number of other members here, I would do so in a heartbeat.
