Pixel Art / Re: [wip] a few characters
« on: July 15, 2010, 09:47:02 pm »
Love em, although the second guy (to the left) has the weirdest stance I have ever seen. I tried it out myself to see how it felt and damn is it awkward.

The first character is my favourite; he seems to show a lot of personality through stylistic choice alone, as well as his haircut.

Great job once again!

To be honest, I don't think the skull adds to the feel of the picture any. Whether you keep it in is up to you, but I think the picture would look better with simple piles of garbage.

Tree looks much better, though!  :P

Number two is definitely better here, but you're still inconsistent with the edges of your platforms. The tall skinny ones are perfectly straight vertically, and the longer ones have perspective. Choose one and stick with it  ;)

Great improvement so far!

I kind of liked the image better when the tree was smaller; dwarfed by the garbage. It promoted much stronger emotion than this massive bulk of tree that appears to be growing over the garbage.

Still, nice idea and I look forward to its completion.

Pixel Art Feature Chest / Re: Tree House Mockup - WIP

I like the image overall, but I don't think that your faint rocks compared to your crisp treehouse is doing you much good. In my opinion, the rocks would look better if they followed the same colour style as the rest of the image.

General Discussion / Re: Pixel art with TouchScreen's

Would be interesting to see how well the new iPad works with pixel art. The screen is definitely big enough.

Looks very nice, in my opinion, but in the second piece the back of the character blends in with the tree trunk behind it, causing a bit of a readibility issue. The hair could also use a little touchup/shading, as it looks a bit flat currently.

Keep up the good work!

His hind legs are hesitating before they actually make contact with the ground. That's probably a major contribution to what's making this run odd.  :)

seems fine to me?

The guy on the train's skin colours could use a bit of alteration, they seem very saturated (right word here?)
