Hmmm... So what about mine, does my fighter stand a chance of entering the project?

Pixel Art / Re: Not another fighter sprite...

I think you should leave more space to the face by taking off some of his hair. I also don't tlike the way his shirt ends near the elbows; you should use gravity for it. Now it seems there is some wind below him and lifting his shirt (reminds me Marylin). Although, if he were an Anime character, specially from Yu-Gi-Oh, that would seem normal XP

See, you should really read posts carefully... :

You didn't say "Hey, here's a sprite I made based off such and such", no you just claimed it was all your own work.

It seems very suspicious for someone to show their ripped "works" and say nothing about it

And the best one:

Stop making silly threads like this and start pixelling.

Don't blame people who sounded "mean" with you for your own mistakes. Yes, your mistakes. If you were to explain or clarify people something, the most reasonable time to do it would be on your first post. It seems very suspicious for someone to show their ripped "works" and say nothing about it; there is a difference between saying "Hi, this is some of my work, I'm a beginner so I still just make edits" and saying "Hi, this is my work, C+C". And I really doubt you forgot to say it was ripped =P

And if you think the level of comments is too harsh here, then you've got to go to another community. I'm serious. There are plenty of forums and discussion boards where sprite edits are welcome.

Edit: And Esker has just posted before me =P

Only one crit: the skintone in the fighter's pose is too saturated compared with the rest of the sprite.

If you compare them in a darker background you will see that the skin of the original doesn't fit with the style of the other colors. The skin standout too much.
Meh, I was going to do that when I first shaded his skin... Like, I just used this scheme to shade the sprite, then I'd change colors to fit the rest of it (since I'm using purpleish tones for the whole thing). But I just forgot to do this part heh (really!)... Thanks for reminding me ;D
I edited my previous post.
And yes, that would be an honor ^^

Phew...

I said he had a jacket.

Thanks for the random thoughts, Stitchy, but I don't want my fighter cheating with weapons... He already knows kung fu, that IS enough ;D
Thanks to snake too, since I fixed most parts you said to... Oh, and it's Seven, not Steven.

Well, I think that's the final version.

Edit: I OWN post number 500

Has anyone ever mentioned The Lion King for SNES backgrounds?

Yay, good C+C. Now I'm much more satisfied with it, but still don't think it's "perfect". Stitchy, I just didn't add so much white because I wanted his hair to be more of a gray than a actual white, see? But I got the contrast and flatnesse problem (at least, I think so). I also took some better references for the arm anatomy (here).

and the skin tight outfit doesn't suit him
Hmm, that's more about concept than pixel art, but I can justify that. Imagine a futuristic oriental kung fu cowboy fighter... Than imagine him throwing off his coat to fight... See? XD

I'm not satisfied with it... Maybe some C+C would help.
Heading to the Portrait.

And I must begin mine... I've been thinking about a concept for about one week =P
