Challenges & Activities / Re: The Daily Sketch
« on: November 16, 2017, 11:11:24 pm »

Hey everyone ! I've haven't been active on this site for over a year, and I haven't done much pixel art in the meantime. Despite that, I have been doing a lot of traditional art with pencils, oil pastels and pens. I hope that experience will help my pixel art in the long-run, since I'm interested in picking it up again.
Any general advice for improving this piece ? I was also wondering how to map out the base layer of pixels to form the eventual shape of the character. I'd love to get a better understanding of the basics at this stage, thanks for your time :)

It's always nice to see people undertaking passion projects like this. I'm not a seasoned Pixel Artist, though I dabbled in the concept during the summer of 2016. I love Pokémon, and I was wondering if I could be of any assistance ?
Some questions: What level of detail would be needed ? And would the sprites be animated ?

Since last summer, I've been improving my traditional drawing skills, and I'm sure that practice would lend itself to an improved quality of pixel art.
I have quite a full schedule at the moment, as I'm still a student, with exams approaching in June; but I though I may as well offer my help  ;D

Some of my recent traditional artwork, can be found on

My Pixel Art on Behance :

Profile : I'm a young pixel artist; I've been drawing small things with my laptop every now and again over the past few years, but I mostly doodled with a pencil and paper(Which kept my creative juices flowing). I recently became interested in making pixel art; I have always loved video games and minimalist art, so it was an interest that I was destined to find.

I have a busy school, social, study and sleeping life to juggle, so it's unlikely that I would stay with a project for over 3 months, unless I was very interested in the project.
I'm happy to do easy / small amounts of work for free, in order to get experience, but I'm open to paid work too.

Check out some of my work on Behance !
