General Discussion / The good palette/colors ?

Hello guys !
As a noob beginner, I'm wondering how choosing good/coherent colors for a pixel art.
I'm curious about your process :
  • Do you use the same palette ?
  • Do you do your picture, and after cleaning it to keep a few color ?
  • Do you decide upstream "I'll use this, this, and that colors for this drawing" ?
  • Etc...
Because everytime I found my colors terrible so I'm asking you if you have some advices about that :)

Thanks for your comment ! With that, I make a retake on the background and the chameleon shading (with a top light).

(And that tail... I have to retake it completely :X)

Hello o/ !

So, for my first post here, I give you the pixel-art I did for the Pixel Dailies of the previous 05/21.
It's my really 4th pixel-art, I don't count the "things" I did for the gameJam in solo.

In my eyes, it's my favorite and the best done (believe me, you don't want to see the others :3).

Anyway, there is it :



I really need to work the colors. Everytime I used too much saturate colors, but I believe I'll learn it with practice over and over again :D.
I'm opened to every suggestion, comment, and critique !

(Oh, and it's my first topic, so if I did something wrong, tell me ! :))

Hi folks ! French guy here (so my apologise for the mistakes) :).
Sooo, I'm really new to Pixel-Art. To Art to be more specific ^^'.
In fact, I'm a coder who want to extend his skills.
I made some Ludum Dare, but each time, the design penalized me, so I want to take that in hand :).
