Here is just a quick edit:

The canopy still looks like kind of smushed onto the trunk. To fix this, try to think of the branches as the bones that hold up the leaves. Tree branches typically start thick and gradually taper to a point. What you have here is a very thick trunk and very short taper room. If you were to try to draw the branches underneath it would look odd:

I didn't draw that perfectly, but it looks a bit too cut-off. The trunk would either need to be thinner or the canopy larger so that it can accommodate the length of the branches.
The same trunk with a modified canopy:

I know that since you've worked on the texturing on the leaves, you probably don't want to alter the canopy that much, so you could always change the trunk and shift the canopy a little:

What I'm trying to get at is, try to think of the flow of the tree. The branches grew before the leaves, so the shape and number of the leaf clusters are dependent on the movement and placement of the branches.  :y:

I also have another suggestion, it's not super important because lots of trees are dense, but if you want to add more depth you can show some of the branches peeping through the leaf clusters (edit: I just realized another poster suggested this, oops) sort of like so:

That looks kind of weird but you get the point  :)
I like the color and texture so far, you seem to be great at the details but need a little help with the bigger shape
Keep it up!  ;D

Changed it a little:

I was thinking that the white spots were a bit too distracting, and that if the feathers covered more of the chest the transition from feathers to fur would be smoother. I also did some shading on the legs and replaced the rough points with curves. It looks kind of bland now

@drain. I love the name  :y: not sure what you mean by remove the darkest color

@Zia The extended neck looks a bit weird to me. I may or may not attempt to animate this later, so I'm not sure how that would move. If mine looks too un-proportional though I'll change it

Ok, so I tried to fix the feathers near the front so they don't look as starkly outlined. Also, I added some color and drew in an eye-

I thought the head looked kind of unfinished, so I drew some antlers made out of bird's feet.

Thanks for the suggestion

I tried redefining the feathers a bit

Hi!
I am currently working on a character design of a deer/crow hybrid. I haven't started coloring it yet, and want to know if the feather texture on the head and the fur texture on the body look ok.
Also, I'd like to know if any parts look too weird/wonky so I can fix them.

Thanks  :)

Each individual stair has a very dark outline, so maybe you could make the outline lighter with darker shading near the inner edge of each stair.

This looks great so far, it's easy to read as breathing. Im also not the most experienced at pixel art, but I'll do my best as an extra set of eyes

You might want to look into moving the torso in a less linear fashion. Maybe tip the character back a little as they breathe to create more movement.

Heres a very quick edit to explain what I mean.

That edit may be too fighting-stance-ish, if that's not what you're going for. Another thing I would suggest would be to simply slow the rising movement with each breath-

Again, I don't have too much experience with animating pixel art, so I hope these are reasonable :)
