General Discussion / Re: Can Asesprite be Used for Tileset Creation?
« on: December 15, 2016, 12:42:02 pm »
I'd recommend aseprite for making tilesets as well. You can start by using its "tiled mode" view to create a first individual tile, and then process to the rest of the set. The "tile mode" helps to erase any seams your tile might have.

Your portfolio looks solid, albeit some works need a bit of work on the colors. I'm just a beginner in terms of pixel art as well, and I guess knowing color theory is a huge help. When you are doing art in a 16x16pc canvas, the colors will be your friends to help you convey shapes and shadows, for instance.
Knowing how to work with saturation and how to achieve contrast is one of my objectives right now.

This is so awesome! I love to see the pixels on the screen "get real", hahaha
I'm terrible with any kind of craft, though D: I once tried cross-stitching when I was a kid and, man, that was painful.
