Hey just sent you a private message with my email.  I was lead animator for that company that released 3 nes games and a sega genesis game.  I know all the restrictions and taught many employees how to work in it.  Can also work in all the SNES mode restrictions and have animated pixel art for pc and mobile games.

Hello,
The blocky style would look better if it were lower resolution.  If you want it to look better I would recommend creating more concept sketches that have more detail.  Right now this image is more of an "idea" of a cross bow but with a new design and more details it should turn out better.  Start off googling wooden cross bows.  Then just keep scrolling the images.  Feed your brain enough and you should easily be able to put something new down on paper.  When you finish your concept sketch we can work off of that.

Here is the revision based off of your edits.  What else could be fixed?

Thanks for taking the time to make that edit.  It is crazy how close it was to the computer render!  I will make those changes and repost later for more critiques.

True I have made a mockup in 3ds max with a 3/4 orthographic view to see what it should look like.  Here are the results.

Pixel Art / Struggling with statue for environment.

I am struggling with this statue asset for the attached environment.  Ground tiles were removed and is all flat sand.

Looking for help with hands, perspective and shadow.  Also I need fresh eyes for anything I missed.
