Hi!,
I'm representing a small team (1 Producer, 1 devs, a concept artist and a writer) who are currently under the moniker of Clever Machine Studios. (We released Desert Bus 2600 for the Atari 2600 a few years back) Anyhow it's been about a year since my last dip in the pond for help and we've had some great work and progress made and we're just on the verge of releasing a 1 player demo this year along with some fundraising material.

That being said, here's some details (that we can divulge) about the project:

A) The name of the project is founding force. Here's the logo for the game:

B) It's late 80's/90's era beat 'em up akin to Final Fight/Golden Axe. 16-bit era large and colorful sprites.

C) We're friends with the guys who released Skycurser (google it) and are writing our engine for their platform AIRFRAME so this is going to be in an arcade cabinet.

D) We have a show in early April that we're looking to establish and start talking about the game and would love to get someone on board to help us put together a quick teaser/sizzle of a few screens in sprites and help us get to our demo goal if not to the continuation till the end of the project.

We already have a strong concept artist and we had an amazing pixel artist that set the style/tone of everything but unfortunately he got scooped up by bigger cats and we now need more help. If you think you want a long haul project with legs working with some laid back dudes and making interesting characters, we might be a good fit.

The pay: Like I mentioned before we're two working stiffs doing this as a rather serious hobby with some rather deep connections in the small but growing arcade industry on a new platform. We're winging it but we're more than willing to make concessions and pay/trade for your time. We'd even be willing to work out some share trade of the profits when we get there but this is going to decent sized game with at least an hours worth of content. In terms of funding we just don't have much now. We're about to start a fundraising campaign to change that very soon though with swag and a some publicity at shows with our demo.

So if any of this sounds awesome we'd love to see your stuff and talk a bit more about the job and your needs so shoot me a PM!

Thanks again for your time,
-M

PS. I know last year I wrote a similar post and I got a lot of great replies. If you happened to reply before and are still interested please feel free to send over any updated info and availability. Thank you again so much.

Greetings,
I'm part of Clever Machine Studios, the creators of the marginally famous but mostly not fun Desert Bus 2600. We're in the process of putting together an old fashioned new arcade beat 'em up for the AirFrame arcade platform. I've posted back in February looking to build a team and have since gotten a few team members together to work on our yet to be officially announced title. We have a lead pixel artist and a character concept artist as well as some programmers and are now looking for someone to fill the gap of level concept/pixel artist and possibly in-game items. (food/points items, etc.) Our game is somewhat historical and plans to start off in the 18th century but will end up in very different places towards the end. Our budget is pretty thin now, but we're looking to start fundraising around Summer 2017 after we officially reveal/announce the game at Midwest gaming Classic 2017. So we might have something to offer in terms of compensation but won't be much till then as the game right now is run by a couple of working stiffs with families. If you love drawing trees/towns, alien vistas, battle cruiser interiors, oceanic scenes and the like and can provide simple sketches & pallets and marginally rendered art we'd love to have you. We're a pretty low stress fun group and a lot of the work you'd be providing would have a loose timetable once we get a couple immediate needs off our plate.

If any of this seems interesting at all, feel free to message me and some links to your portfolio and past work. Thanks again for your time reading this.

Thank you and everyone for your interest. We're currently sorting through everyone who contacted us and getting our act together to figure out our workflow with our current timetable. Feel free to still send any more submissions and you should be hearing from us shortly.

Thank you so much,
-M

Hi!,
I'm representing a small team (2 devs, 1 concept artist and a writer) who are currently under the moniker of Clever Machine Studios. (We released Desert Bus 2600 for the Atari 2600 a few years back) Anywho, Our next project is going to be a  doozy and we're looking for a few pixel artists to work on environmental art as well as character/enemy sprites. We're still establishing a workflow and we're all working stiffs with families so we can't afford any pie in the sky costs.

That being said, here's some details (that we can divulge) about the project:

A) It's going to be a beat 'em up akin to Final Fight/Golden Axe. 16-bit era large stocky and colorful sprites.
B) We're friends with the guys who are releasing Skycurser (google it) and are writing our engine for their platform AIRFRAME so this is going to be in an arcade cabinet.
C) Our initial goal is to get a one room demo by August and then move on from there.

So if any of this sounds awesome we'd love to see your stuff and talk a bit more about the job and your needs so shoot me a PM!

Thanks again for your time,
-M
