Then it doesn't matter, we just want to play it with some people. It doesn't matter if it does get monetized or not at all. We also develop other games for android which are original concepts so it's not really a big deal, we are just huge fans of the series. =)

The initial goal here is to make the game playable and ready for beta testing. Regarding IP rights, we will have to get permission for which ever parts of the game will need it. It's a fan made game and non profit (initially) and we will make sure we won't have any problems regarding legal matters. We will not be monetizing until it has decent amount of community. And when we decide to monetize it, we will have to get rights for it, and sponsors.

We will definitely contact the copyright owners so they can advise on what we can do and can't do. It's the least of our problems for now. Right now we just want to see the game working. We will never know, if the game looks good enough even the copyright owners might give us rights for free. =)

Greetings Everyone!

My name is Philip, me and my colleagues from Retro Fusion (a start up game company) are looking for an enthusiastic and creative pixel artist that can work with us on a game we are currently developing.

Responsibilities:
  • Create animated GIFs from scratch.
-most of the animated gifs are character actions such as attack, fighting stance, block, dodge, etc..
  • Create appealing stage backgrounds
  • Create UI elements such as buttons, frames, or what every images we need for the game

About Us
Our team is currently composed of 3 people
1 Game Director and Lead Programmer (me)
1 Web Designer and HTML5 Animator
1 Graphics Artist

All of us have day jobs and we are doing this game for fun but we are seriously into it as well. We need a second graphics artist to speed up the pacing of the development since we are now in the process of animating the battle sequences.

About the Game
We are creating a web based game based on the Japanese Anime Hunter X Hunter. It's a game where you compete with other people by creating a team of your choice from the characters of Hunter X Hunter. If you are familiar with the web/flash game Marvel Avengers you can simply look at it like that but the battle is automated which means you don't have to do anything during the battle. All you have to do is prepare your team in terms of formation, equipment, character combinations, upgrades etc. You'll need energy to do missions where you can get money, exp, equipment and more. There are also an arena where in you fight with other people to reach the top of the arena and get big rewards every day if you can stay on the top positions.

Right now we are focusing on the development of the battle system and balancing of character abilities and stats as it will be the core aspect of the game. Other events and features of the game are easily added or removed later.

The detailed description of the game as well as documentations will be explained once you are in the team. We have a facebook group where we keep in touch with updates and other stuff at the moment.

As I've said the game is based on the Japanese Anime Hunter X Hunter, so it would be very helpful if you are familiar with the series and better if you liked the series as much as we do.

Regarding the Compensation

We are still in a start up stage so we don't have a budget for salaries at the moment. We mostly chip-in for fees for servers, hosting, license etc.
With that being said, we can't promise a monetary compensation at the moment, but we do promise that you will be part of the team and whatever we get from our work will be fairly credited depending on the amount of work done by each individual. If ever we've come to a point where we can monetize our products. You will definitely have a share not just on the game but on the company.

How to Reach Us
The development of this game could last a couple of months before we can actually put it in beta testing. So we would only consider those who are seriously into it.
We don't require you to be pro's or super great artist, we need a person who is very enthusiastic and loves his craft. We believe that technical knowledge can be learned but enthusiasm and motivation is very hard to find.

You guys can leave a comment here if you have questions or send me an email at philipbadilla@ymail.com. I can also skype and YM but I'm not regularly online.

Thank you guys for reading my requests!
