Decroded: Thanks for the advice on the timing Decroded, I will add a few more frames and see how that looks.

Pinux: Do you mean saving incrementally? I tend to do this now ya haha, to many times losing files, or realizing it was better before :)

@Pinux Ah really? That's cool! I played a lot of Cave Story a few months ago and it really influenced me! I know of Zero Blaster but I have never played it.

It loops at least now! But lots of work left.
I wonder how it would feel in a game though, haven't tested it enough yet to know.

Wow I'm really liking the design! I'm going to make a small edit in photoshop to show a thought I had but it will have to wait, gota head out... Felt overall I love the upper half, and he feels big! I felt maybe his legs could be in more shadow maybe though? I think they feel a bit more confusing then his very well defined arms. But I thought you could help that with some shadows.

Really liking the mock up so far! One thought I had was the sword was a little close in value to the background and blended in a bit to much I felt.

Made an edit to show my thoughts!

Had an idea for awhile that I am working on as a personal side project. I decided I should dedicate more time to it and wished for more feedback as I develop the aesthetic too.

I think I could achieve a bit myself with Game Maker.

Overall the art will need to read well as it would be viewed in a small window.

It's inspired by Yume Nikki and Twitch Plays Pokemon.

Some initial idea's

Hey man this stuff is great! Keep up the good work :D After looking though, just as a though! If you want it to be more "Hyper Light Drifter" like you would want your timing to overall be much faster. Imagine hitting the attack button, and then it feeling as if you slashed the moment you hit the button! Very fast animation very little detail even maybe very blurred shapes.
