*note: regardless of what we ultimately choose to show the battle scenes, you will get paid for any pixel art/animations you make for use; read on:

Hi everyone! I'm looking for an artist to do beautiful pixel art/animations that will depict battle scenes for a visual novel in the works. We're still debating whether to use a few full screen images to depict battle scenes in the visual novel or high res pixel animations (or non-animated) of the battles as we think that give the battle scenes more flare.

A little about the story:

The visual novel is about a virus that has infected an augmented reality game. The main characters work with the government by playing the game using creatures called Guardians to stop the virus from spreading and stop the hackers who apparently created the virus. Unfortunately, things aren't always as they seem and the main characters must decide what side to help out.

The pixel artwork/animations will be used to depict the battles in the visual novel. They won't actually be controlled by the player (think Dorkly Bits pixel animations on YouTube).

The pixel animations will depict characters in different outfits, various creatures and them attacking, and items the characters use (also, possibly full scenes, but we'll discuss that in detail later and you can advise on what route to take).

If the costs are a bit high, static images will do too.

The high res pixel animations are similar in art style and positions to those in the Final Fantasy games for iOS and Android. In terms of designs, we're open (chibi style, your own style, etc.).

Something similar to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjrjxCNeQl0

If you'd like to see what we'll need to get turned into pixel animations, you can check out our Facebook page where you'll see the creatures and characters of the visual novel: www.facebook.com/prosperousinterlude.

We will commission some animations and see how well they can depict the battle. We're still experimenting with the scenes, but regardless if we decide to pursue the high res pixel art or not for battles, you'll still get paid for the work you've already done.

If you're interested, please send a note with a link to your portfolio/gallery and estimated cost.

Thank you very much for your time!
