Long time no see eh?

Well we're surprisingly not dead and so isn't the game. It's going to hit App Store and Google Play on April 14th, in fact. Sorry for being so terrible at managing anything SM-related. Presskit with more info can be found here: http://dumbluckgames.net/retrohighway/press/index.php

Hello! My name is Constantine, I specialize in 2d pixel art and sometimes dabble into lowpoly and voxel art.
Right now I am available for paid commissions, big and small!

About:

As the title suggests, Retro Highway is a racing/runner game with obvious inspiration from such classics as Road Rash and Outrun in which you try your hardest to get the highest score and not crash into things.

Gameplay:

Think of it as a mix between classic racing games of old and modern runners. You are in full control of your bike (albeit with auto acceleration enabled to make it more bearable to handle with touchscreen limitations), but the ultimate goal is not to race the clock or your opponents - instead you just try to beat your highest score by driving as recklessly as possible as long as possible to maintain your combo meter while gathering coins to unlock new bikes and upgrades on the way.

Media:

Showing off

Coins are NOT going to work that way in the final version of the game :Р

Pixel Art / Re: [WIP] [C&C] Random portrait (help needed, I guess]

Yeah, I do understand what is this about, but sadly all I have is a bunch of nearly identical full face photos and my own memories :P
I guess I'm just going to continue playing around with it till I reach the result which will suit me good enough.

Thanks for the useful video, Altourus. I shall refer to it when I'll get to drawing hair, though now I am still uncertain about the face's form. Everything about it seems right, but similarity between the photo and the drawing is still not notable enough and once again I have no idea what to do about it :P

Woah, thanks for all the replies. I guess I was too sleepy to figure out the obviousness of these issues back then, I shall start fixing them immidiately when I'll return from studying.

The sizes are fixed, now it is time to redo the form.

So this is how far I could get. Looks like quite an improvement in comparison with the starting pic, but something still feels very wrong about it. Any suggestions?

Pixel Art / [WIP] [C&C] Random portrait (help needed, I guess]

So I have been drawing another pixel face for quite a some time, but at certain point stopped without knowing what to do next because of two main problems: 1) I somehow messed up girl's face proportions or such (here is the main ref pic), but I have no idea how to fix that because I cannot even say what exactly is wrong 2) I also have no idea how to draw this type of straight forelock (I guess this is the right word if I'm talking about the part of the hair which lies on the forehead )

I'll try to fix these issues by myself, but any suggestions of how to fix tat or actual fixes would be highly appreciated.
