I think you wanted to curve the torso a bit so the length of the left and right hips under the waist should not be even. and the thighs and but make the butt seem super saggy so shrink em or move that thickness up a bit after switching the hips up and down some more. since the right leg is up the right hip needs to be up more and the left doesnt have to stretch down just fix the butt and thigh problem.

You all are super informative, thanks!

Always appear shorter in games that are more open spaced/isometric (like pokemon) but in games that are sidescrollers they can be taller (Like tomb raider curse of the sword).
I've only seen them tall in an open spaced/iso game on pc, why?

General Discussion / Re: Method: Shape & Cluster approach
« on: September 13, 2014, 11:08:03 am »
This method takes a lot of traditional light and form theory and lots of practice with it. I recommend you start learning about drawing/painting forms of all kinds and understanding light and how it interacts with forms and stuff of that nature. It'll be a head buster for a long time but at least you'll learn this shape and cluster approach.

General Discussion / Re: Tutorials/Tips : Isometric Sprites?
« on: August 15, 2014, 02:22:11 am »
Old thread but I hope I could help some people with this issue...

An isometric drawing has constant angles of 30 degrees...

My secret for getting it down is simple... ;)

Notice First:
the grey angles, then the Red centerlines and then the lines that come out horizontally straight (on humans) and where the triangles go (on humans; they go down the side where we see most of the human's side body facing us and this works for the back side if you use the same method except it will show the side that is farthest away from us so the triangle for the front view = we see more of that side, the triangle on the back view = we see less of that side don't screw around with the triangle's angles too much if you want to keep it isometric)

I'm too tired to further explain this but if the picture still isn't making sense, go ahead and say so so I can create a proper step-by-step drawing or possibly a video.

USE THE PICTURE OF THE RED LINES ON THE RIGHT (The one without the circles) TO EXPERIMENT WITH THE TRIANGLES FOR PEOPLE AS ive mentioned above and use the items as reference for it too, think of it as a template.

I'm sure most if not all of you have heard of this dude: http://www.pixeljoint.com/p/17621.htm
I really love his speedpaints and gallery but I have a hard time understanding how he uses his colors.

(Attempting to make this question short and easy to understand)

I've read on this site or another about color neutralizers and such and I kind of get a hint of what they are but I don't know what his neutralizers would be since he has so many funky colors and I'm used to seeing Neutralizers being funky colors on the thread I read it on.

I really love his style and I want to be able to create a nice palette as such using whatever color I want and so I need more understanding on which temperatures/value ranges are his/the shadows, lights and highlights/neutralizers that help me achieve this kind of style of coloring.

Last question: Whats the best way to know which part of the lineart I should tint with the rest of my colors or what kind of thought should I keep in mind to make it easier to come up with the decision on my own and not be failed at least some of the time?

Final notice:
No need to tell me to develop my own style, that's what I plan on doing when I'm experienced enough but I just want to study from Jinn and others and I don't really know how to study pixel art well despite all the reading I've done on and off this site, I just need guidance on this.  Thanks for reading and whatever comments are hopefully to come.  :D
