Pixel Art / Re: Lil' Knight

Actually by lil' I just meant small. It is a gown man I guess, but I'm trying to achieve a feel similar to Final Fantasy Tactics Advance or Advance Wars.

The game is a turn based strategy game in which you control a large amount of enemies, like Final Fantasy Tactics, or even chess; just more epic.

EDIT: I modified the original post.

Ello everyone! I'm just working on this little guy for a tbs game and would really appreciate input. I am having a large amount of trouble getting a face that I am pleased with.

Thanks a lot!

EDIT: Here's an update on one of the characters, and I included a little example of what I was envisioning the playing field looking like as well. Crits please.

No it truly isn' his template. It is from a free resource site (as he said) where you pick certain hairstyles and such and it makes and RPG spriteset for you. I searched for the site a little bit but couldn't find it. I have used it way in the past, and I'm sure the thread starter would provide a link.

This isn't a critique of your pixelwork, but you should shave your eyebrow in two and get rid of that retarded mustache.

I'm guessing you made that in GameMaker. And just use this site to loop it.

For the future, most shooters have the lighting at the front of the ship, so that lighting isn't a problem for flipping the sprite and the such.

http://www.gamemaker.nl/

That is a good program to work with for making games, seeing as it has drag and drop for beginners, but adds a great deal of depth for extended use, even into 3D games.

The upperbody animation looks very jumpy. A few more transition frames would improve it a lot.
