Fantastic work, it looks really good.

Does this mean Nintendo is actively soliciting new NES compatible games?!

like Gil said, the outline is a bit strong, I think Pokemon sprites usually have a more dithered outline

Pixel Art Feature Chest / Re: [C+C][WIP] Sprites for a beat'em up

pulling that punch in second to last gif

that's a "hey buddy" punch, not a take-someone-out punch

if you change the timing, ie take out the frame with the arm behind her neck, maybe replace it with a frame at the end of the punch to wait a beat before she starts to pull back.

its just to circularly fluid, doesn't have much weight to it

looks really good though, i like it without anti-aliasing

big improvement overall, I kind of like the shadow under the hat in the original though

its hard to express medieval fantasy across when they're naked

if you embed the image in the post instead of just linking it, its possible for me to easily zoom in and see it with more detail by just clicking on it.

I think maybe you're trying to show the top of the head because its from a downward perspective, but with the angle of the body it looks more like their head is just leaning super forward

Pixel Art / Re: Cyclops shading

I tried to follow some of your advice
before

after

you were right, softening the shading helped a lot!
I added highlights to the close arm and reduced them on the far one. i didn't remove them altogether because i'm wary of adding many more colours, (part of the reason i'm getting into pixel art is because i like the idea of super minimal palettes) but maybe i'll see if i can do it with my existing colours

Pixel Art / Cyclops shading

I'm pretty new to pixel art, this is my first attempt at creating something with shading, i'm not super happy with how it turned out but am not sure what to do aside from fiddling pixel by pixel and zooming back out to see if it looks better

here's the preliminary work i did for it
