Devlogs & Projects / Re: Kickstarter thread!
« on: August 30, 2013, 01:42:13 am »
Hi everyone!

We are a group of 3 people (programmer, artist and musician) working on the Octopus City Blues, an adventure game with the early 90's style.

Has been 3 days we released our kickstarter, and we need help to spread our project as much as possible. Don't back it if you dont like it, but any kind of support will be welcome, and we will be really thankful for your help.

We are not asking for much money, because we understand that no one knows about us, and it's risky to ask for more.

We also hope you like what you can see about the game, and we want to thank to everybody for the support!

Thank you so much for your critics. I think you're right. There are still lot of errors in all the scenes, but i am afraid i cant fix them because of the time.

Anyway i will try to be more carefull in the next scenes, i will try to apply any tip I get.

This is really exellent! Is not easy to create such a beautiful scene+sprites with this kind of limited palette

Very nice work.

Pixel Art / Making of 4 scenes for a indie game

Hi everyone! I am currently working in 2 indie videogames right now. Even if it is a hard work, I enjoy it a lot because I have freedom doing my pixel art stuff in my own style.

I want to show you 4 scenes from one of that projects. I am learning to work in a way that I can do faster things without losing the initial quality. Something in the middle between speed and quality, not too perfect, not too ugly or undetailed.

I didn't managed well my time in the first scene, so in the next scenes I applied diferent ways to do faster.

1. Centipede express scene: more than 12 hours working on it.

Making of (6 minutes): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPOE63lDATo

2. Snow scene: more than 5 hours an a half.

Making of (3 minutes): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfCqnzNOb6s

3. Title Screen: more than 7 hours to finish it with the fixes.

Making of (5 minutes): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kPrfLeijr3U

4. Fish entrance scene: 4 hours to finish it.

Making of (4 minutes): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6FE1QPSCYs

I know there are lot of things that could be better, but I'm running out of time, we need the demo to be done as soon as possible.
