Pixel Art / Re: Elf Base - Help needed.
« on: April 30, 2011, 09:00:09 pm »
Hmm it looks more of a chibi to me.

Things to consider based on Lore Elfs are whimsical characters, that don't age, so they are always to look around the age of 19/20, and elders no older than 28. Elfs are fit, with sharp features kind of like the vampires from twilight lol, you want to make them look tall, i did a base head to kinda give you an idea around the style you seem to want to achieve, using proper anatomy rules in this would not quite apply, since your character would be rather tall in that case. I would probably choose a body size nearer to that of your reference for height, just think of very victorian slender posh kind of style when designing a elf.

heres just a sample head to kinda give you an idea of what I meant, I haven't done pixel art in years so hopefully it helps a bit.

General Discussion / Lots of Spam

There has been a lot of spam lately in the Low-Spec art board if some haven't noticed, a lot is still sitting there now. Should probably get it cleared up and the accounts IP Banned :)

2D & 3D / Re: Massive Blender Tutorial!!!
« on: April 20, 2011, 11:35:30 pm »
Update for anyone downloading the latest version. Was getting frustrated trying to find this info so thought Id post it now that I found it.

- The Alt + left click no longer works to rotate your 'canvas' unless you use 'simulate third mouse button' in settings. Otherwise you use your middle mouse button to rotate.
- To get mirror working it will be on the right panel, now on the bottom, the bottom is now for your animation.
- k is no longer loop cut, search loop cut in your settings to change this, also it doesn't knife cut the same, maybe there is another button? not sure. If you know let me know :)

Other than that i haven't found much difference so far for how far along I am.

General Discussion / Pixelation Lives?
« on: March 16, 2011, 11:10:23 pm »
Wow, it feels like ages since the days I did Pixelart, not to mention the old times on the Original Pixelation boards back in early 2000's. I actually came across the website by accident under the new domain with my account still working.

Good to see that the website is still alive, makes me want to start pixeling again :)

Hmm you beat me to it, however if not a reduction a definite trace, you shouldn't attempt to fool anyone on these boards, they are always on the look out, your biggest mistake was putting a trace/reduction in with your other art, the style/form are complete opposites which sprang the mistrust.

Pixel Art / First pixels in a while
« on: September 13, 2007, 07:19:28 pm »
Nothing major or special, haven't pixeled in a long time and so I decided to put some tiles together, thought I would post them before I lost them or misplaced them. The water isn't done yet it just sketched in for ideas basically so don't look to far into that. Also haven't decided what to do with the dirt whether or not to leave it solid or texture it.

I completely underestimated you, this work is extremely top notch, The dragon and Blue dinosour remind me of Moon's work with the well put together mix of AA and dithering really really good job on those, however this is by far my favorite:

Awesome work man.

Challenges & Activities / Re: Mockup Frenzy #1

?

Pressing the button rolls the joint. The faster you press the faster you roll it, but dont lose the rhythm or you don't roll the joint as good. Better joints get you better highs. Better highs = more points .

Needs a lot of work. It was fun to draw though. HUD elements to be added soon.
Ahahahaha nice, maybe have the Green-out meeter be your guide, you want  to get the roll to stay in the middle, falls short you don't get high enough less points, roll toooo well and you green-out and are unable to roll anymore lol. Neat idea.
