Pixel Art / Re: Cave Story for unrealisticly underpowered platforms

This seemed pretty fun, so i gave it a try. Here's how it could have looked like on the Master System. About halway through i relised that I probably should have picked a less powerful console, since the results doesn't difer that much from the original (aside from way too bright colors and smaller resolution)

I have no problem with the readability. the outline of the hair makes it pretty clear what's hair and what's his face. The skinn is a bit extremely yellow, though. You could try give it a more red-ish tone.
Nice work overall :)

The second one from the left is Ultraman. No doubt about that. I'm having a hard time with the third one though. A blonde superman without cape? ???

They look really cool, but I have to agree with Leroy, that they might look better if they were slightly taller.

I'm having a hard time telling whats skin and what's beard in the face. It needs more contrast.

I also think you should either remove the black outlines, or use them around the entire character.

They don't look very deserty to me. I think it looks more like a mountain or wasteland. It needs much less rocks, and much more sand. I happen to work on a desert sidescroller myself, so here's an example of how you can make it look more like a desert.

But personally I think rising platforms just looks wierd in desert. You might wanna think about that.

This has nothing to do with the animation but...

Isn't she suposed to have red shoes? I've never read the book, and it's ages since last time I saw the movie, but I'm pretty sure that the shoes were red...

To BG: Well, so viking + Phantasy Star = Robot Viking? Something like that anyway. It just sorta popped into my mind.
Thanx! It's awesome! ;D

And that's adorable BG! Basically one of the cutest things ever. ;D

Camelot (the guys behing Golden Sun) did this for all their games back in the Saturn days. it looks horrible in Shining Wizdom, but works pretty good in Shining force 3 (for the same reason as in Golden sun) though beutiful hand drawn sprites would have been way prettier.
