I know this is going to sound like an excuse but surely the strangeness and creepiness suits this picture?
Also I'm not really that advanced as a pixel artist, I don't know the terms. What do you mean by construction problems?

It's a person with a deformed right side of his face that cannot show expression but he is happy so his left is showing the expression and so you get a mixture of sadness and happiness on the same face. Or that's what I was trying to convey. I'm not too sure if his left side looks happy.

I'm pretty happy with the straight jacket but the same could not be said for everything else but I tried my best to get it at least tolerable, anyway are there any crits from anyone?
EDIT: wow the colours on the clothing are pretty crap on this background >:/ I'm going to add a little darkness to them
EDIT2: I have changed it hopefully for the better
