Actually, I might refine it a lil :) but thanks so much for the edit

And people I know what a palm tree looks like, but this is very very styalised :), im happy with the shapes and stuff just needed help on not making it so flat!

Wowowow. I have not posted here in a long time

I made this palm tree a few days ago, Problem is it doesn't look quite right. I made it for a game I currently work on and the style is right and everything, so I'm not going to change the style..
Just I think it could be enhanced so it doesn't look as flat, especially the trunk. And the texture on the trunk.., It looks more gravel than it does "bark".. Also the coconut. :[

So if anyone could help me, please do!   :D

Pixel Art / Re: New project wip, animation/anatomy help?
« on: July 18, 2009, 09:07:46 pm »
I couldn't help but have a crack at it myself...

I reshaped the body a bit the arms were too short and the body had no waist, so i added that in...

I utilized the fact that males generally have longer bodys than legs and i tried to put the muscles into some sort of proportion, It may not be right but its as close to being right as it can be...

Looking better, I'm looking forward to seeing the detail in the legs.

When it's finished, you may have yourself a masterpiece, haha.  Just a simple question, why the abs?

Well... It was originally going to be a "Chun-Li" type character but it seems to be getting further from what it's original purpose is. But i'm happy because this has been a major learning curve for me so far...

Slight edit anywho.

Well I tried following your template, I agree with adding in a ribcage that comes out instead of what i have done and generally the top area, but when i tried lengthing the body and slimming down the hips, then it started to look weird :|. I'll show you just so you can see... i know the abs etc are mirrored, its going to be for the time being if i choose to go down the root of following that outline.

I don't really want to push Helm's advice away since he should know best with his talent and seniorority or however it is spelt, but i feel the template is going down the superficial route. Since bodylength, hip size, bust size and so on does vary.

Anyway's If someone could guide me the right way on Helm/Ptoing's template, I would quite happily consider carrying on with it, But anyway here is a slight edit from the what i was originally working on. Added in the ribcage, corrected a few anatomy problems and rippled the cloth...

Put in a rib cage and redid the neck section and the t-shirt... Really did take alot of fiddling around with, but I am happy with the result so far   :D

So if anyone can help, it would be much appreciated  ::)
