The bird looks like something you'd see in those old Sierra adventure games.

I think the sprite looks good. What's the nature of the game? And what language are you writing it in? (This looks like the kind of sprite you see in those javascript type projects.)

I think the idea of a sergeant is interesting; most sergeants already have so much character, pixelating them should be fun. But what about diong it with a twist? So, for example, what would happen if you crossed a sergeant and a tomato? A sergeant and a lizard? A sergeant and a piece of toast? Any pixelated goodness come to mind?
