Did minor edits on blondie and made a new enemy, based on a typical gangbanger

1. 2.
I've done some idle animations. I wanted to give out the "let's kick some ass" character into him.
The second one looks like he's teabagging some dude...

The problems with Game Maker are because of how shit GM is. It just has problems with some graphicscards and scales blurry on them.
The shots you provided for your Photoshop stuff does not help as we do not know what % of scale they are at. They both look to be uneven numbers.
I think there was this code snippet(s) by Chevy Ray at the TiGSource fourms that can solve that problem. I'm pretty sure it was called "Seamless Scrolling" or something.

Changed some colors with fro kid and experimented with hue shifting. I was pretty proud of the result.:D
Though, the Z-Saber sword(Megaman Zero inspired) on scarf kid has been bothering me, trying to not use as much colors, since there's 10 already. And the shading on the left sleeve, yeah... I think I was trying to mimic pistachio's shading on his edit.

Update

I've been doodling these characters on paper for a long time, and now decided to pixel them. "Afro Kid" is finished while "Anime Spike hair kid with a sword" is still WIP. I've also been struggling with color choices from the past and I would really like some critique on this.

And holy crap, did servers crash on Pixelation or something?

meaningless to most, but meaningful to a few. Finished the first loop.
Could somone give me the meaning of this please? I am pretty sure it's some game but I don't know what one. Enlighten me!
It's DoDonPachi, or it's godforsaken hard-to-remember sequel. I don't know.
Look it up on Youtube, insane bullet hell SHUMP.

That's actually pretty good for your first try! Now what this picture needs is grassy texture on the grass!
Lots of potential in this, really.

The black lines in this picture are really turning me off from this piece. How about doing some sel-out and AA, it would look great on this awesome looking robot of yours! ;D

General Discussion / Re: Explosions and other SFX in Game Boy games

EDIT:I know these won't suit a GB game, but I'm just giving out examples here.
I'll give you two games that have incredible explosions and gameplay.
Alien Soldier(Genesis/Megadrive, 1995, Treasure)
This game is super hardcore. It's like if you stuff Gunstar Heroes, Contra, huge bosses, and aliens all into one game
this is the result. Their explosions are made with a big circle and shrink until a certain size(think of a balloon losing air), which is oldschool if your looking for that.
I can only demonstrate a video since no one likes to rip sprites from this game >:( :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XPOUxRmyv0

Metal Slug series(Arcade, SNK)
SNK is pretty top notch in their animations in their games. The explosions in their games are really exaggerated, but you know that's how SNK is.
