Cool. I could see a series of these with different colors and expressions.

This things expression is a little ambigious and perhaps confusing because the nose could be interpreted as its mouth(which is what I thought initially) because there is no other indication of a mouth. Also, I think the head might look better if it meshed into the body instead of having that hard line seperating them. This is pretty awesome for 20 minutes though!  :)

hmm, I think fundamentally "speed pixeling" isn't as plausible as speed painting or sketching. When working fast, pixeling allows very little expressiveness. Granted, expressiveness can somewhat be shown through color choices and pixel placement, but pixel art in general seems too systematic for speed practices to be beneficial. I'm sure someone will disagree  :)

These are some pretty interesting color studies. I guess the next question is, what are they?  :D

Your middle one is a good idea but I think you need to learn how to more effectivley use colors before taking on something so ambitious. The last one is starting to look pretty good!

Mostly in reference to the last guy:
- Are the black outlines leftover from your lineart? Drop them, it's sucking the life out of your stuff! You no longer need the black outlines when you have color to define form.
- Try using less shade colors. Smooth shadow transitions bring on a negative gradient look.  Shadows are rarely smooth transitions--rather they change intensity quickly from dark to light.

Do you want us to fully render these or leave them simple like the sample dances?

I think it looks pretty good!
Though, I'm not sure why its shifting down then to the right and back up again? I think if you center align the body of the monster in every frame it will be much easier to work with and it won't seem so eradic. It'll also be easier to spot problems in the flow of your animation as monsoon2d said.

just read above pegucha ^
I'm unfamiliar with Magination. Is it some type of cardgame? You should have mentioned that in your first post and show what images you've based your sprite off of.

and why dose it need a lot less colors ! maybe when I am done with this ill make it with as littile colors as possible =D
pretty much what Zach said. There's nothing wrong with the way you've done the sprite but it's definitely unconventional. Learning to manage colors makes pixelling faster, less hectic, and returns a product of equal quality. I hope you do try something with less colors!

It's seems very familiar to me too.
There is an artist that had a style exactly like that. It seems I've lost the link but I remember it because of the distinctness of the style. Are you that artist? or perhaps it's coincidence? Either way this definatly needs a lot less colors!

iST:  That animation will look great if you can get the blur effect. It'd be pretty sweet if you animated the pirates mouth moving up and down too  :P

could fix the purple though i think, make it a little stronger if your into that kinda thing
Yea I figured the saturated orange I had was beating up other colors and making stuff look uneven so i took it out

Here's an update getting into the aa. I'm pretty shaky with heavy aa. So I'm not sure if my technique in some areas is as good as it could be
