Title: Josh Astorian a criminal?
Post by: jharris on December 29, 2009, 02:54:24 am
I'm looking for Josh Astorian.  I've paid him over a thousand dollars to do some work for my feature film.  He hasn't responded to emails or chats or phone calls in months.  He hasn't finished the work.  Help me find him please.

How did you pay him?

If you used Paypal file a claim.
If you used a credit card issue a charge back.
If you used a money order or something similar then you are shit out of luck.

Josh has shown over the past half year that he has no intention other than taking peoples' money and doing no work. It's a shame because before he got on this path, his skills had really become phenomenal. I hope you get your money back, or at least the work he owes you.

To everyone else, don't ever pay someone up front for work they haven't done yet, especially someone you haven't worked with before.

You are not the only one who this has happened to; several others are angry.

It's quite sad to hear of another of which this has happened to; Josh is a really good artist and he's got what it takes to make it in this world, but as the past few months have shown, he hasn't been prompt with his work.

I really hope you can get this worked out, and I'm wondering if the moderators should take the initiative to warn others who might pay Josh before they receive their work, because threads like this have popped up a bit too often recently. :/

I'm having a hard time believing this, It sounds like an angry person (same from before?) trying to dish more dirt on him.
How did you find him?
How did you know to come here if this is your first post?
Feature film? What kind of job was this?
$1000 deposit? Once again, what were you asking for? how much time have you given him?

I don't think any moderator action here would help, because most of the people posting Josh stories are new to the forum. Presumably they typed his name into Google, and these threads are the first to come up. Anyone that's a regular on these forums is already aware of what's going on (this is what, the third thread?) so I don't see any further action helping.

As a mod I can't really help you know. I'm just a guy who makes sure people post the things they should, where they should around here, heh.

If the first time you googled 'Joshua Astorian' is after you got ripped off, and not before, then, bummer D: But the only things us mods CAN do is, well, letting these threads be clearly and visible and not try to cover anyone's ass.

So that's what we're doing: nothing = A =

cause that's the best thing we can do.
