I've made my avatar. I have a face now :-).

Really quite nice, but it uses a bit too many colors. The skin could also use some hue shifts, IMHO.

I like it. the skin tones could use a little more contrast however, unless you were actively going for a bit of a clash between eyes/mouth and skin.

(go crazy on colors, it´s 2006) ;)

All in all, these are solid pixels.  Go crazy on colors if you want, just don't waste them.  There are a lot of redundant midtones in the face area :p

I overdid it, just to get the point across on what Xion Night meant about a hue shift (people have distinct personal preferences as to how they shift their hues and skin tones are really easy to screw up when shifting).  I didn't add too much value contrast because of the way you distributed the colors, and you already had some pretty good use of saturation.  I moved a pixel or two to compensate for the color balance but nothing monumental.
