Okay, so I've got a building I've been working on and I need some crits before moving on to coloring and shading. I'm just looking to improve on anything I can and I'm open to suggestions and edits and what not.

After that comes tiling. :blind:

The roof looks flat. Form here i assume it's a foil that starts form the side of the building and cover the roof (it's also a bit twisted: tou might want to lines to follow the scheme 3-2-2-2-2....1-1-1, there are some imperfections like 2-2-2-1-2-2-2-3-2-2..).
I made a little edit for you:

In terms of visiblity I wouldn't cut off the "INN" text for everyone be completely aware of it,
usually in RPG's the signs are in white and have high priority in terms of attention.
-
Thanks guys, I'll make an edit as soon as possible.
(Edit)
Okay, so I added some depth to the roof. You're absolutely right Elk, signs are a major part and need to bee seen. Though there's only one pixel missing on the Inn sign, and I don't really feel up to moving the whole structure around just for one pixel. (You know what I'm saying?) Oh, also added a food and bed sign to cover up that emptiness.

even if you don't want to move it for one pixel, (at my first glance) it's a little distracting, not to mention there's a tangent from the letter "i" to the little log holding the rooftop in place. i really think elk's critique is important.
as for the linework, it's looking real smooth, i like it.

Okay made a few adjustments.

looks a lot better. in your previous one, i thought the signs were meant to say "food bev.' (beverage)
the placement of the word bed is a little odd to me though, my eye gets caught there as i look around the piece. may be a little bit of clutter in that area. i'm just being nitpicky tho, it's nothing to really worry about.
keep at it :y:

I think it's time to start coloring.

I have started shading the wood, and so far I think it looks pretty good. I don't have any clue how to do the Bricks though. ??? What do you guys think?

Edit:
And another.

I think the bricks are alright, but help is appreciated.
-
Just have to say that I love the texturing on the wood, it is very well done.
To critique on the bricks, they honestly kind of look like scales but they do look nice, The thing is it seems like a natural styled inn and the bricks or scales or whatever are too symmetrical maybe try to make them more individual.
-
Don't look like bricks to me. Maybe if you made them less scale-shaped and changed the shading a bit they would look more like bricks.

Just a quickie edit where I played around with it a bit. Very little detail and contrast, just wanted to give a general idea. Maybe make assymetrical/different sized bricks like Wayne said.

Looks like he picked it up again because he wasn't satisfied. Nothing wrong with that.
