Title: Paul Bunyon Entry (help would be nice)
Post by: brod on July 19, 2009, 05:28:03 am
Man... waiting this long was a REALLY bad idea, this is taking such a long time. But I really like this challenge >_<

I'd really like some crits and ideas (for the bg) for this piece I'm trying to make.

I'm having a ton of trouble figuring out how to make those boxey things lumberjacks' usually have on their shirts (this (http://www.ptarmiganclothing.com/images/products/390_s_Filson-Lumberjack-shirt-red.jpg)) and I had so much trouble with the face I just covered it with a hat.

well, the first problem I noticed was that the image looks stretched. I know you're going for a tall-pixel look, but it looks like you drew most of it with square pixels, then stretched it vertically.

yeah I noticed that too, but I'm not really sure what I can do to fix it. I have a lot of trouble working with huge pallets so I often use a very strict amount of colors, but when I used that concept on this it turned out stretched like you said.
