Hey Hannes!  Nice to see you still around and making excellent art!  CGA has to be the most evil palette around, but you've done some good work with it.  Overall, these are some very impressive portraits, but I have a couple of minor crits...

On the first one, I think you could articulate the detail in the hand a little more...kind of vague at the moment, and it's looking almost like he has three fingers.  In the second, I'm not quite sure if the light areas in the middle are his eyes, or under-eyes or glasses.  The only thing I can see in the last image, is that there is a slight dent in the brim of the man's tophat, right at the front.  Other than those very minor things, this is great work!  ;D

I have much respect for palette spinners. This is good work. The CGA is very frightful, and you've done some outstanding tricks with it.

I was just at your webspace a few days ago, and forgot all about you, actually :(. I wish you would do more stuff, because I love your mid-oldschool look.

The citadel/building is looking fire, and is my favorite. Applause.

Wow I really like the train animation! Now all you need is Green Beret jumping about and it's complete!

(I tried to find out what CGA means, what does it mean?)

It means Color Graphics Adapter, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cga for more info.

ouch!  :'(

For your train animation I suggest some paralax goodness ;) Also I noticed the rails are moving, might want to keep them in the same place.

Honestly, I don't think that the train is moving, but the viewer is. I think the idea is that the viewer is slowing down to check out the graffiti. Correct me if I'm wrong.

New pic, with photo reference though, so it's kind of lame. I included the steps because I thought it's kind of funny how it starts out with this crappy drawing ^^

I'd define the individual strands of that left girl's right side hair a little more (and call it a secondary light source)
The right girl confuses me.
....
Are they suppose to be nude? I'm confused. And her left boob. Uh...
? Is it really that large?

On second thought, the hair crit may not be valid, since I kinda think it looks cool like that.
Any clothing should not be dithered into the skin. But i'm sure you know that, so I'll assume that they really are nude.

Thanks for the crits! Yea, I kind of liked how the hair blends into the background the way it is right now.
You're right on the breast area though, I really couldn't be bothered to get it right ... although it looks pretty much like this in the reference, I think it's the cropping which is making it difficult to see how her upper body is turned. And that's supposed to be a tan-line ;) Oh well, next time will be better, I hope ^^

One more pic, my entry for the GFX compo at Breakpoint 2006, created at the party. I was really tired when I was supposed to create a background just before the deadline, so it didn't turn out very exciting :)
