Title: Does Pixelation still have an 'official' IRC?
Post by: Argyle on June 09, 2009, 05:57:16 am
Does Pixelation still have an 'official' IRC, or at least a channel that the userbase has adopted as an unofficial hub?  I got curious about finding it when I saw a link under PixelJoint's Community pull-down menu called 'IRC (Pixelation)' - which points to irc://virtual.dyc.edu/pixelation

All of the clients I have tried this in report back with a rolling timeout from no response.  My guess is that this is an outdated link, as I've heard people mention having received help in the IRC channel in their C+C pixelation threads within the last few months.  A few searches have only come back with threads from back in 2005, at least from what I've been able to find.  Is there even a channel?

Thanks!

There is no official Pixelation IRC channel and there has not been for quite a while now. There have been plans to make one but so far nothing got realised.

Thanks for the fast reply, Ptoing.  (On a completely derailed note, I just happened to get piqued by your avatar enough to plug it into a binary translator while killing time on lunch this afternoon, Ptoing.  Yus! Bird strikes again!  Too funny)

The Pixel Joint IRC has the same small handful of silent users online every time I've signed on within the week.  Was merely hoping there was a more lively crowd of you lot to lurk around on.   ;D

The non-official pixelation chat has been up for 9-10 years now, I haven't been in years though and checking right now there are some old timers are still in there (they were not active on these boards though but neither am I anymore). I doubt it's that active like it was in it's early years.
