Title: Rework request from n00b
Post by: snakesqzns on May 29, 2009, 03:42:45 pm
If any of you are willing to rework these I'd love to see how they could be improved!

Then only using the default vga palette:

Thanks!

Hi snakesqzns. We do not rework your artwork here as a point in itself. We give you critique and might edit the work to illustrate the critique and then you take those points and you work on your artwork more yourself and present updated results.

Sorry if my request was offensive.  Do you have any critique to give?

Yes. I suggest you don't stick so much to straight ramps with just a variation of lightness going across them. Introduce complementary color shifts and subtle tints. Also you don't need so many colors for so small pieces of art. Clarity is more important than smoothness. I wouldn't actually suggest more than 8 colors for these.

Grey is not a good color for playable character ships, attempt more vibrant stuff so they don't get lost in a shooter environment.

Good luck with your project.
